Today was my first visit to Gentspa. I chose this place because their prices are reasonable for a sweedish massage ($115 for 90 minute) and it's pretty close to where I live downtown. It is actually located in the Hilton Hotel so when you go in you are entering through the hotel which is fine. I found street parking but I think they will valet you which is cool.
It doesn't look fancy like many spa's you simply go in and go to the room. There is no area where you hang out with lockers and water and stuff, its very simple which is fine for me.

The experience was less than satisfactory. We were never told that there was only one tech and that we would have to take turns. We expected to have our nails done together. The technician was unprofessional and not skilled in manicures/pedicures. She spent the entire session talking about conspiracy theories and many other inappropriate things. She did a hack job on our toes leaving the nails uneven and HALF painted. The manicure also, horrible. She took the top layer of our nails off with the cuticle remover and left pieces of stringy nail hanging off then painted over it. Also, she only painted

I moved here from CA on a year contract and didn’t have a stylist. I thought since they were in a hotel and had spa and other nice pampering they would do a good job. Well, I had to go back twice because she was arguing with me about how short I wanted my hair. I have had the same cut for the last year so I found a great girl at SportsClips in Greenwood.

I normally see Kimber at Gentspa but she is limiting her hours so I scheduled a haircut with Mimi. Was very, very disappointed! I asked for a stacked bob and was confident at the on-set of the consult we were on the same page about my request. I had layers in my hair already. I basically ended up with a trim. Mimi is nice but I'm not looking for nice in a stylist. Something went terribly wrong. After discussing my dissatisfaction with her before leaving and reviewing our conversation she said that a picture would have helped. OMG! Have been going to Gentspa for several years! My daughter and I schedule our Massages together as Birthday or Mother's Day gifts as a way to relax together! The staff is very welcoming and they provide a bottle of water afterwards to rehydrate! Such a relaxing time, we always look forward to our next Spa Day! Had a great experience with Gentspa for my wedding day bridal & bridal party hair & makeup! I also did a trial a few months prior. Danielle, manager, was easy to work with and offered a discounted group rate. She also arranged for our group appointment to start early at 7am to ensure a timely start for my 1pm ceremony. The salon staff made sure to get feedback from me to ensure all my ladies' looks were not only beautiful on each lady, but also created a cohesive bridesmaids' group look consistent with my vision. Gentspa is an excellent choice for a downtown Indy wedding!!!

I have nothing but nice things to say about Gentspa! The level of service you receive when you walk in is outstanding, everyone is friendly and attentive to your presence. They are punctual and professional. I get my hair cut by Marty and he get's it right every time.

Took my daughter here for her 16th birthday to have her hair and make up done. Awful job on both the 1st time around. Then someone else did her hair and makeup and her hair was cute, but makeup wasnt. Her friend that was there with her fixed her make up. Still had to pay the full price. They shouldnt had charged me for the make up. I wouldnt recommend anyone here.

Live downtown Indianapolis and I could go anywhere - GentSpa is my favorite. Heather is a true master stylist and superb with color, Danielle takes excellent care of my skin, and I get my nails done here too (I recommend the gel manicure - lasts forever and looks great). Love what they've done for me!

This is the best salon to go to for wedding up dos and makeup. Ask for Heather- I had shorter hair and she made it work to get my hair into an up do that looked gorgeous. The vibe is very laid back and all of the staff is very friendly. They made the morning of my sister's wedding so much fun and easy! The salon is very well decorated and clean as well.

Danielle is amazing!!! I trust her to wax my brows perfectly everytime. I'm usually in and out in 15 minutes yet she takes her time and really provides service. It is a tad pricier than salons on the Northside, but having the option to head over on my lunch break is worth the extra dollar or two to me.

This is the only place my wife and I will get our hair cut in Indy. We've gone a few times and have always had great experiences. We've both had Natalie and Heather cut our hair, and they both do excellent work.
We haven't taken advantage of their spa services yet, but my wife plans to in the future when she gets some free time.
For anyone trying for their first time: park in the Hilton garage off Market St. and make sure to take your ticket in with you for validation.

After not having gotten a 'real' haircut for awhile, I decided to try out the "you get what you pay for" adage by foregoing my usual barbershop and finding a real salon. For $25, I got a pre-cut shampoo, haircut and a post-cut rinse.
This place is in the lobby of the Indy Hilton (with an additional location at Chase Tower). Looks nice, but to be honest the barber is like the mechanic's shop: I don't care what it looks like as long as you do what I need you to do affordably and well. Others might care about the decor, so yes it looks very nice.

I took a gamble on this spa for a massage and it did not pay off. They have a long, long way to go to becoming a welcoming space for men and women.
The massage room is located just off the small lobby, which affords neither privacy nor silence.
I went for a 60 minute Swedish massage and it was clear that the masseuse had no idea what such a thing was. Additionally, she used a strong smelling lotion (and too much of it) which required her to wipe my limbs with a towel when she was done.
A terribly un-relaxing environment. Avoid.
