Helmed by Dr. Linda R. Elliott, Ahwatukee Commons Veterinary Hospital is a full-service animal companion medical care and boarding facility nestled in the foothills of Ahwatukee. Dr. Elliott purchased the hospital in 1988. Together, she and her compassionate team of skilled professionals have been providing exceptional veterinary care and customer service to the Phoenix area ever since.
To apply for a currently open job, please appear in person at our practice and bring a copy of your resume. We are seeking an energetic individual who works well in a team environment as well as independently for this Veterinary Kennel Attendant position. The ideal candidate must have a strong work ethic and show initiative.
Your pet's health is always our number one priority, which is why for most pets we recommend annual wellness exams to ensure that your animal companion remains in good health. If your pet is a senior-over seven for dogs, over nine for cats-we strongly suggest twice-yearly exams and blood screenings.
Imagine if you never brushed your teeth or had them cleaned. Pretty frightening, right? As you can imagine, things would eventually start to go very, very bad inside your mouth: teeth would rot and decay, gums would become inflamed and infected. Bacteria from those rotting teeth would eventually travel into your bloodstream and could cause other serious health problems.
We love providing pet boarding for your dogs and cats! At Ahwatukee Commons Veterinary Hospital's boarding facility, we care for both the physical and emotional well-being of your dogs and cats. We understand that each animal responds differently to the stress of being away from home and family. To best handle this anxiety, we show your pet that we are trusted friends.

I was traveling over the holidays with my dog to Phoenix. This was his first long car ride (12 hours) and he did not have a good time. He panted heavily the entire time and then vomited profusely when we got to our destination. I called several vet offices the next day who told me that we couldn't get an appointment for a couple of weeks. We were able to get an appointment here for the next day. The doctor was friendly and very thorough with the exam. She prescribed anti-nausea and anti-anxiety medication for the drive home and it worked like a charm. My dog was much calmer and so was I.

My parents drove nearly 6 hours round-trip to see this vet. When they arrived, the tech said they had to get all vaccinations (this was not disclosed on the front end when the appointment was made). When they advised they would only be getting 1 of the 3 vaccinations, the vet refused to treat their aging dog. In fact, the vet didn't even have the professionalism to discuss this with my parents herself - they never saw he once. At the end, the clinic did agree to run a test on the feces of my parent's dog in hopes of discovering his health issue. Just found out today that they actually never did

Wouldn't recommend this vet:
Front staff were friendly but the vet almost brought my wife to tears.
Our dog has high anxiety, we've worked with a professional trainer with mixed success and we believed our girl would be happier with training and the right medication.
The vet shamed us for evening asking for medication without properly trying to get to know our situation. She was very condescending, it was quite a jarring experience.

The staff really made me feel at ease during a stressful time. My dog Ghost is already an established patient, but we came in due to an emergency and they remained calm and answered all of my questions. Julianne was very gentle with my skittish shy boy and they were understanding when he was scared and didn't try to cause any more stress to him while he wasn't feeling good. Dr. Howsley kept me informed during every step and why they were performing each test, each time giving me the opportunity to see pricing so I wasn't so overwhelmed at checkout. Overall a really great experience during a tough

Great vet! They have a chalkboard with every pets name on it to welcome them for the day! Very friendly staff! They give a cute little mug to first time patients. The doctor was super friendly, so was her assistant. They were both very informative and kind. It was quick and easy(: i added nail trimming to my cats appt, and they trimmed them very well! No splintering or fraying of his claws like my last vet did! PLEASED.

I was asked to step away from my dog while he was shaking on the table and then the vet grabbed his face and said "your mom can't help you now". That really made for an unpleasant pet visit.
They didn't listen to my concerns. Pushing things that are completely unnecessary, and very rude about it . I get they need to make money but asking me if I want to add a series of extra items to my very specific appointment is unnecessary and annoying.
I was recommended to have my dog neutered!! That was not the point of my visit and not one of my concerns. Following that they said

Took my puppy Frankie here for his first vet visit a few weeks ago and absolutely loved this place! I wish I could have gone inside for the appointment, but felt totally comfortable with everyone who handled him. Everyone was so friendly and kept me updated the whole time during his visit. Will definitely be bringing Frankie back here for any future appointments and will also bring my cats here too if needed!

Truly love this place, everyone I have spoken to and met have been very professional, nice and not a vet that makes you do unnecessary procedures. Costs are around the same as other vets in the area unless you have a Petsmart Banfield puppy care.
I recommend this vet for anyone looking for a caring techs for your pet.

I had a 2nd visit at this place with a different vet. Wanted to charge me $300 for blood work before prescribing an allergy med my dog was prescribed elsewhere for 2 years with no bloodwork. Then the estimate to have his teeth cleaned was $1000-2000 which is ridiculous. These kinds of costs only deny pets care. Also my info was turned in to Maricopa County without my knowledge for a license after I updated his rabies vaccination. I am fine with getting the license but would like to be informed. This didn't happen on my first visit last year.

These people are crooks! Tell us would be around $600 for surgery and then bring me out a quote for almost $3000. Wasted 2.5 hrs of my day sitting in the parking lot since they are so scared to allow people to come in their center. Blood work for me with no insurance $60 bloodwork for a dog $300. Common man. These people try to scare you by tugging on your heart strings. Terrible biz.

First time boarding my cat with a new vet in a new area, and was completely freaked out about it. Within a couple of days, I received a picture and text about how good a time he was having. Picked him up today, and was pleasantly surprised to get a "report card" about his stay. Very happy with my first experience here! Happy kitty, happy cat owner!

My sweet Charlie had spent a few days not quite feeling well so I decided on a Monday to bring her to the vet. My regular vet was closed on Monday's so I called around looking for an emergency vet without sky high prices. The one closest to me happened to also be the one with the best pricing so I called for an appointment. I spoke to Wendy who gave me the last available afternoon appointment but after she heard the symptoms, she asked how quickly I could bring Charlie in. It turned out my dog had a terrible, very possibly life threatening infection. Dr. Elliott skipped her lunch break to
