Mama's Greek Cuisine

I have been going to Mama's Greek Restaurant in Tarpon Springs for many many years and I have never been disappointed. The food is delicious and the service is amazing.

You can bring your fur babies and eat outside on the patio. Got the Seafood platter, it was pretty good, it also comes with soup (lemon orzo) and bread (wish the bread was not cold). The service is a bit slow, so be patient with the servers. Your food may arrive warm to cold. Not hot.

If your looking to enjoy a nice night out and to eat a place with a nice atmosphere and courteous service, then this is not the place for you.
You will wait at least 30 minutes before being greeted by a rude waitress who happens to be a company family member.
You will waiting another 30 - 40 minutes before getting the drinks and then you will wait another 30 before having your order taken, or even being acknowledged.
The rude manager's only remark towards providing horrible service, dropping off our check immediately after getting our cold distasteful food that we waited and hour for ,as well

Came for dinner 12/30/21 Restaurant was not busy. We sat outside were given menus-20 minutes later still no waitress no water my husband goes inside asking for service. 5 minutes later the waitress comes to clear another table and give them a check and she does not even acknowledge us. We walk out. Go to Hellas Restaurant we are immediately greeted and offered beverages. They have amazing food and GREAT service and a fabulous bakery. Don’t waste your time time at Mama’s they clearly don’t value or need the business.

Waited 1 hour and 20 minutes to get food in windy, cold, winter day seated under the shade.
Wrong drinks and terrible food.
Ordered medium on my meat and came out fresh raw meat as seen on pic.
Rude staff told me “we can’t give you discount “ even I never ever asked any discount.
I’d highly recommend avoid this place. Be aware!!!

We were overall dissatisfied with the food and service we received at Mama's, unfortunately. We were under the impression it was one of the best places to get food in the area, but our food was rather undercooked (the rice was hard and the fish was a bit on the chewy/raw side). My gyro was very plain and the baklava was quite oily. Love the Happy Hour deals they have all day and enjoyed our appetizer immensely, but the rest was enough for us to likely not return again in the future.

The food was cold and needed to be reheated. It was decent but nothing earth shattering. The thing I was most unhappy about is an added fee to use credit card. You only find this out when you are paying. See the sign. Is this even legal? I have been to many restaurants and none has asked this of customers when you are about to pay. I’m not a happy customer.

Great meal, fabulous and friendly staff. My friend and I had the Saganaki, Octopus, Greek combo platter, and baklava. Delicious, fresh food. We drank Sangria which was also good. Plenty of food - we each took a lot home. Angela was the best waitress. Friendly, knowledgeable, and took good care of us!

Packed! Be prepared to wait awhile. But, there is a pretty good reason, the food is traditional Greek and really good. Sadly they were short staffed today, our poor waitress, Maria was running hard. But food was quite good, the octopus was very tender and delicious, Spanakopita was buttery and delicious. Worth a visit if you like Greek food.

Awesome Greek Eatery. Had a long wait due to being Father’s Day so we didn’t ding the staff. They had a group of 20 Greeks show up and wouldn’t leave! Our poor server was worn out, but she was pleasant and communicated with us regularly and kept the drinks coming. This is a gem of a place and worth the wait. Atmosphere is good. Food was great! Remember, family restaurants aren’t the same as chains, good food takes time!!
OK. Started a 5 star, but after the group left we we forgotten and took 25 mins to get the check.
