Is your pet protected against those pesky parasites as the weather warms? We have several options to help keep your pet protected against fleas, ticks, and heartworm. Obetz Animal Hospital in Columbus, OH is a full service companion animal hospital. It is our commitment to provide quality veterinary care throughout the life of your pet, and we are dedicated to becoming your partner in your pet's health care.

Our services and facilities are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy pets; early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages; and complete medical and surgical care as necessary during his or her lifetime. Thank you for taking the time to read about our veterinary practice and the services we offer.
Services
Obetz Animal Hospital is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care. We provide a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We also work closely with local referral practices, such as Ohio State University and MedVet when special diagnostic procedures are required.
Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs. Registered technicians provide intensive nursing care for hospitalized patients, as well as assistance with routine wellness care for outpatients. Our on-site, digital X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.
Can't remember to give your dog a monthly heartworm preventative or oral meds are hard to administer? ProHeart 6 is an injectable heartworm prevention that last 6 months! This pairs well with Bravecto, an oral chewable flea and tick prevention that is given every 3 months. And don't forget about your cat!
Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery. Dental care is one of the most commonly overlooked areas of pet health care. A recent report states that over 70% of pets show signs or oral disease by age three. Dental disease affects more than just your pet's mouth, it can lead to more serious health problems such as heart, kidney, and lung disease.
We offer extensive in house lab work, IV catheters, IV fluids, and pain medication to all our patients. A trained technician closely monitors your pet throughout surgery. We also utilize computerized equipment to monitor your pet's heart rate, blood pressure, and blood oxygen saturation. After surgeries, patients are allowed to recover quietly.

Dr. Nikki is extremely knowledgeable and professional. She went above and beyond for our older FIV+ cat during our first visit, walking us through every option and being completely honest about possible outcomes. We will definitely be returning to her! We are also appreciative of her office staff, especially Kaylie, who scheduled us with a sense of urgency. Wonderful office, and wonderful people.

This veterinarian is BEYOND AMAZING! I owned 2 Belgian Malinois and very weary about who could render health care for this breed along with knowing the breed. Obetz is that place! We had a litter of 10, and they were beyond helpful and loving from day 1! Momma has since been spayed here, 2 pups I've knelt have received all check ups and shop updates here, and dad, who is a retired K9 and very grumpy at his old age, is welcomed here for checkup and to treat is arthritis! I'd never take a pup anywhere else! In fact, 3 of the new families our puppies have found confine with this vet!

Kind and friendly staff and Excellent care for our loved family dog. Felt like we were cared about not just a client and paycheck. Explained everything in detail and was honest and upfront.

We love this vet clinic! Convenience first brought us here, but the staff and their genuine love for animals keep us coming back. We regularly take our dogs for their shots, Bravecto, etc., and they excitedly drag us across the parking lot to go inside & enjoy all the attention they get from everyone there. Yup, they can't wait to see the vet!
Just one thing I'd like to see change; their groomer is so booked up, she's not taking new clients. They need more groomers!

I was visiting with my sister. She had been out walking with her dog around her block when her dog was attacked by a couple of neighbor dogs that had gotten loose. We attempted to reach out to her regular vet, but they could not fit her in. So, we contacted Obetz who were willing to fit us in right away. The staff were very friendly and concerned about her pet's well being. They performed an initial exam and explained a recommended plan for tests and treatment. These folks were absolutely wonderful. They wanted to see him back after the weekend and were quite willing to accommodate

I couldn't ask for a more well-rounded and experienced vet clinic. I historically went to another clinic just up the street from where I lived, but they weren't as well equipped and didn't follow through with follow up calls on test/lab results and wellness status to where I was doing all the calling and getting nowhere. Obetz is fantastic and reasonably priced.

I would give less than one star if I could. I called ahead to help my neighbor bring in her cat who had been hit by a car. I called ahead and alerted them to the emergency situation, as well as let them know he was to be put to sleep due to his advanced age. In the car his labored breathing and frothing blood from the mouth was terrible and his cat mother wanted his suffering to end. We were greeted at the door by the door with paper work( the poor kitty wasn't doing too well in his crate). After initial paperwork was done I believed they would then end his suffering. Not quite after the release

This is a great bunch of people. I took my cat Malachy to be neutered through the altering programme that Cat Welfare offers to subsidize these procedures.

I took him in at 7:30am and had him back by 6:00pm the same day, way groggy and obviously not too happy with his dad. (Not happy going in, not happy coming back out, but he's over it now). Thank goodness they have short memories when it comes to this kind of thing.

The neuter along with a distemper vaccination and rabies vaccination were in total: $45.00.

I'd definitely recommend them as the staff was very nice, straight to business

We took our 3 year old cat to Obetz Animal Hospital today for yearly vaccinations. The staff was very friendly and treated our cat, who is quite scared of any vet trip, with the utmost care. The vet tech went over the estimated cost of the visit before anything was done so we knew exactly what we were getting into! Dr. John was very personable and great with our cat! I'm very excited about their online store and will be able to get flea medication, etc. sent directly to our home. Since this is connected with the Animal Hospital, I feel safer ordering that kind of stuff online than if

I can't say enough about the staff at this vet's office. They are very quick with lab work and bend over backwards for emergency cases. On top of excellent vet care, they offer grooming and boarding for extremely reasonable prices. Whenever I bring one of my dogs in they are happy to see the staff. That shows me that they obviously are good with my pets even without me there.

When one of my dogs fell terminally ill the entire staff showed him the utmost respect and showed me nothing but compassion. Every single person in that staff seems to legitimately care very much about the animals
