I have taken three of my pets to 1st Ave Vet. Primarily, for convenience and the low consultation fee. The low consultation fee is just a lure. I have only dealt with one Vet there, the one that has the compassion and empathy of a rock! Most recently, I took my cat, Venus, basically to be put to sleep. Her health had suddenly and rapidly declined and was uncomfortable and experiencing some kind of pain. I absolutely love First Avenue Vet! My dog and I recently moved to the NYC area and picked First Avenue Vet because it was conveniently located near our apartment. They were always one phone call away and their walk-in appointments make it extremely easy to get medical advice for your furry friend on a moment's notice. I cannot recommend this veterinarian enough because they genuinely care about the health and wellbeing of your pet and do their best to address your concerns!

I have been taking my dog to see Dr. Poller since he was 8 weeks old and no matter where I have moved over the last three years, this will always be the vet clinic I go to! Every single person who works here truly cares about the animals they interact with and it shows! First Avenue Vet will always be my first recommendation for any pet parent with an animal at any age.

Initially recommended by the adoption agency, First Avenue Vet is now our regular vet for both our hounds. They are very patient with both the dogs and owners, always willing to go the extra mile to explain what is going on and the various options for our pets. I would highly recommend them to any pet owner!

First Avenue Vet was great with our initial wellness visit. We recently adopted 2 rescue cats and Doctor Temple provided a thorough exam to both cats and offered clear explanations of tests, shots, etc. We could not enter the offices due to COVID but Dr. Temple called us and walked us through the initial exam results. We appreciate the attention from First Avenue Vet, including the follow-up call to see how the cats were doing and the welcome letter. We are glad to be part of the First Avenue Vet practice.

Brought my dog in for a rash, and ended up getting some vaccines updates as well. Very lovely staff, great covid procedures, and they were sensitive to my current budget (a little tight right now because of covid).
My dog seemed to really enjoy it too. She loves everything, but she also loved this place.

Amazing Veterinary Hospital! After rescuing my dog I researched a few vets and decided to go with First Avenue and Dr. Poller. They got my dog in very quickly and did a full assessment with needed vaccines. The office and it’s staff are so nice and friendly and very clean. They always answer their emails quickly and help with anything you need! They gave me an itemized estimate for my dogs neuter and never pushed me to do extra things for more money. Dr. Poller and her staff are excellent and I would highly recommend! :)
