Dr. Dennis grew up near Chicago Illinois and attended Beloit College in Wisconsin, where she graduated in 1991 with a Bachelors of Science in Molecular Biology. From there she pursued her interests in connective tissue research at Rush University in Chicago where she earned her PhD in Medical Molecular Biochemistry.

I can't say enough good things about this place. Months of subpar vet care at another location led me to seek other options for my dogs foot injury and I probably called 20 clinics before I got to Monument East. No one was taking on new patients or they were booked months out. After explaining my situation they were able to squeeze me in within a couple of days for a look, and with their treatment plan I have seen more healing progress in a few weeks than I did in 4 months at the other place. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, they are actually familiar with your pet and their situation

Dropping balls worse than my puppy during zoomies.
I first took my Pomeranian puppy there for shots a wellness exam and more, was elated with the cost being only around 220. I returned for him to be neutered, he is only about 6 pounds, 6 months old and I was lucky enough to get an appointment only a week out due to a cancellation.
I asked for the cost when I made the appointment and was alright awaiting an email for the cost, which never came. When I arrived I was handed an estimate for $550!! Call around there's just as good of quality with out that price tag for such a common procedure!

We have had three fur babies cared for by Dr. Hurtado and two other Vets at Monument East. All are professional, thorough, and extremely caring. They love my fur babies the way I do. I get more follow up calls from my Vets on my babies health, than I have ever had from my own physicians. My babies have all made it to their senior years, and I am grateful for each day that I get to love them. Thank you Monument East.

Moving to a new area I wanted a good vet that was not part of a chain. Past experiences have shown me chains are more about sales then care. I verified Monument was independent but apparently didn't tell them not to sell my email address. I now get email from the same place the chain vet used, a company with numerous BBB complaints and a class action suit pending. Extremely disappointing, the email

I have a very fussy cat named Tiny and she was needing to be groomed. I called many veterinary places and was told they didn’t do grooming. Lucky for me I was referred to Monument East. The tech that took my info on the phone was Joannie and she is very pleasant and a good addition to the front desk. All the staff as well as the Dr are awesome. Tiny left looking like a baby doll. Thank you for being there when I needed you.
