This place used to have the best pizza and spaghetti sauce and the whole Clearwater the last five times we’ve been back there’s been something wrong but we were just giving them the benefit of the doubt
Spaghetti sauce is so salty you can’t eat it
Tonight was the last straw we ordered veggie pizza had no veggies no spaghetti sauce It was mozzarella cheese and we had ordered thin crust. No thin crust.
They made us another pizza and it was adequate but as I said it’s the last time

Food is good, and the wait staff is friendly. Lots of locals. We always enjoy ourselves when we come to Capogna's.

Love love love Capona’s! Mario is the best! Loved the Mediterranean Pasta just needed more bigger tomatoes! But had a great Valentines dinner!

Worst pizza ever. Overload of cheese that was burned n the pizza was overcooked which made the crust hard to bite into.

Absolutely fantastic! The food here reminds me of my own family's cooking as we are Italian. Everything was delicious and perfect! Great atmosphere with a casual dining experience. I can't wait to come back!

11/29/21 - This place has a decent lunch menu and specials with most items less than $10. Nothing was extraordinary but a solid lunch location for Italian bar food. This time, I had the calzone and naked wings. The calzone was good. The wings were all drumettes (not sure why there were not flappers) and I ordered the sauce on the side. They were slightly dry but crispy for the nice crunch. The hot sauce, which I was told was made inhouse, was vinegar based and not very hot or complex in flavor. Again, nothing extraordinary but gets the job done. I'll be back to try some of their other offerings

Any place that can stay in business and still be so popular after some 48 years in this area must be doing more than one thing right. It has a small restaurant/bar feel but it's not small. The food and service was top-notch and the prices were reasonable. My only wish is that it was closer.
A fifth star from me is tough to get. All I'd suggest here is some physical updates without losing the neighborhood hangout feeling. Tough to do but I think they can pull it off.

We love The Dugout! We are from Ohio and haven't been here in 28 years, the amazing food is the same as we remember!

Felt like I walked into a place in need of Bar Rescue. While outdated decor is not a concern, who has a sports bar that closes before any late afternoon game or evening game finishes? So other than random wall memorabilia, it's certainly not much a sports bar. And it was also clear there is no system in place to effciently handle a busy Monday dinner service and I'll just leave it at that. And the food got no better on impression. The pizza toppings are low end and the cheese not the robust whole milk cheese one would hope for at a place that was supposed to have great pizza. And the crust was

Got delivery and the pizza was great! The only thing I would recommend is to seal the pizza(food) containers. Feels safer even though my delivery person was great. Will definitely order again!

So good! I was skeptical seeing it from the outside. It has a “dive bar” kind of look. But the food was great. A lot bigger than I expected and the staff was super friendly! If you like baseball you’ll like this place. They have signed pictures , bats , etc all over the place and a couple video games. Pizza was great! It had light sauce and extra cheese and our calzone was amazing and such a good price! We will be back for sure. A must stop in Clearwater.
