Crowns - A tooth can lose its normal shape and size for a variety of reasons. A crown covers your tooth to help restore its original shape and size.
Since I began practicing dentistry in Covington in 1982, I have been dedicated to keeping up with the continuous advances in this field. Having completed over 2,000 hours of continuing education in dentistry, it is my goal to provide state-of-the-art dentistry to Northshore patients. 1983-present - Full-time private practice of general dentistry in Covington, LA for 35 years.
Dental bonding is the procedure where we apply a tooth colored plastic material to a patient's tooth. Using a special light, the material hardens and bonds the material to the tooth. Dental bonding is used to improve a patient's smile. It can be used on cracked and decaying teeth. It also can be used for cavities.
Veneers are thin shells intended to cover the front side of teeth to hide stains, chips, decay, or irregularities. A dental technician uses a model created by a dentist to make a custom shell out of special materials. Because veneers require removing some enamel, they are usually permanent. Your dentist will typically recommend avoiding food and drink that will stain your veneers.
Crowns have a variety of uses. In some cases that require a large filling, there isn't enough tooth remaining to keep the filling in place. A crown can strengthen the tooth and hold the filling. Crowns can also protect teeth that are weak, or help fix ones that are broken. Discolored or misshaped teeth can be covered by a crown, as can dental implants.

Dr. Beilman’s professionalism, expertise and calm manner, enabled me to have a pleasant experience at the dentist- who has that? I did. Prior to seeing Dr. Beilman, I had two conflicting opinions from two dentists on a tooth. I choose Dr. Beilman’s option as it was the least complicated. Throughout the treatment she explained what she and her assistant were doing. I was finished after one visit. My new crown feels just like my ‘natural’ tooth did before I cracked it! Thank you to all the staff.

Since the late 80’s I’ve always actually enjoyed my dental appointments with Dr. Beilman. Weird, isn’t it, to actually look forward to them? Great caring and competent staff!

Dr. Beilman and staff deliver professional, compassionate care in a comfortable and calm atmosphere that consistently leaves me with a strong sense of well-being. I had a cracked tooth that my prior dentist could not address immediately and Dr. Beilman's name was given to me from a friend whose family had been patients of hers for decades. I called the office and I was seen right away despite never having been seen before. Dr. Beilman did a phenomenal job with my tooth & in a matter of hours I left with a tooth that looked and felt like the one I'd lost. Her expertise and prompt service is exceptional

I had a MAJOR procedure done last week that I knew the only dentist I wanted was Dr Melina Hickey.
Her work is excellent , very detailed.
She is an extremely caring dentist, that wants you to feel comfortable. Her assistant Si made me feel relaxed the moment I met her.
The office staff is so warm and friendly that you feel like you have known them for years.
