PACIFIC ASSISTANCE GROUP is a team of highly trained and dedicated therapists with many years of experience treating impaired physicians, dentists, veterinarians and other health care professionals who have developed problems with alcohol, drugs, substance abuse, addiction and mental illness. We offer the most comprehensive physician rehabilitation and monitoring program available in California today. Health Professional Support Groups facilated by the most experienced team of professionals in the state. Random and unannounced drug testing conducted by independent labratories in a sensitive and confidential manner.
Physicians in Recovery can be a very sensitive topic. Sadly, much misunderstanding exists and is perpetuated by the media. Nobody wants to think the physician they rely on for medical care might need care himself. It is estimated that one in ten Americans has experienced problems with alcohol or drugs.
Most states have an officially sanctioned "Physician Health Program" to assist doctors and other health care professionals who may become impaired due to alcohol, drug or mental health problems. Unfortunately, California is one of only a handful of states that do not have a program of rehabilitation for physicians.
Pacific Assistance Group believes that one size does not fit all. This is why we utilize detailed criteria to establish client risk and to determine exactly what level of monitoring is needed to help and support the participant in recovery from substance use problems, other compulsive/addictive behaviors, or mental health issues.
