At Mindful Way Counseling, we take a goal focused approach to helping you achieve the changes you wish to see in your life. Counseling should be a safe space to explore the true nature of the issues you're confronting. Once they've been identified, we can begin to consider different methods to overcome them.

When we feel pain, in ourselves or in our relationships, we can identify something needs to change, but we might not know what, or how. Counseling can serve as an outside perspective, finding solutions or ideas that may not have been otherwise apparent to ourselves. Often, what is blocking us are patterns we've built over our lives that limit the possibilities we can see and keep us clinging to that which is familiar, even when it's unpleasant.
When you first begin searching for a therapist, it's natural to feel some anxiety. You are investing not only time and finances into this decision, but your trust as well. When we first begin, I offer a free 30 minute consultation- Both to help identify your goals for therapy and answer any technical questions you may have, but more importantly to see if we are a good fit and leave you no worries about placing your trust in me as your therapist.
Mindful Way offers a welcoming environment that can help you to safely unpack what's going on in your lives, identify the difficulties and challenges you are facing, and find better ways to communicate with your partner. Together, we can find common ground. Just as in individual therapy, it can be very scary letting someone in and talking about the life you share.
When you're getting ready to take the next step with your partner, there's a lot on your mind- planning the ceremony, receptions, honeymoons. It can get so overwhelming, we sometimes don't take time to just talk with our significant other about how we feel on important personal issues- money, dealing with in-laws, what we want in a house, children, or even small things like chores.
Denise is an Amazing Therapist! I cannot thank her enough for all she has done to help me on my healing journey. She has an incredible background for healing individuals with PTSD, anxiety, depression, marital issues, and adverse childhood experiences. She employs a variety o therapy techniques to include psychotherapy, meditation, and immersion therapy to unearth the core problems that we, as adults, may be facing.
