I thought that I'd already done this but apparently not. I switched to Bay Beach simply because my previous vet had very limited hours. I have been to them about four times and I honestly can't say enough. It's rare that you meet state of the art care along with a great bedside manner but that's exactly what Dr. Cronin (and probably the rest of the doctors) provides.
WAIT! Did I mention they're amazingly affordable and if they aren't the GO TO emergency Vet in Hampton roads they darn well should be! Trust these folks with your precious pets. I love this office. Gimli used his powerful beagle eyes and cute face to get so many treats, so he likes coming too.

My friend took her dog here regularly, but never again. He was scheduled for a dental appointment and they said that they needed to pull 10 teeth. When my friend got her dog back, they had pulled 20!!! They did not call her to make sure that pulling 10 additional teeth would be okay. When my friend called to inquire as to why they would pull so many teeth without notification/permission, the techs seemed to skirt around the question and simply said that he had a heart murmur. I am assuming that the implication was that they pulled more teeth in order to avoid having him put under anesthesia for

Have been a client at this location for the last 10+ years and it's sad how money grabby this establishment is now. They have always charged more than the normal vets but used to have one of the best services in town and felt like they actually cared. Now they just push you to their emergency location so they can charge you even more insane vet prices without that quality service. Sad to see this place go so low.

Not sure why this place is getting so much hate in the reviews. From start to finish I found my experience with them to be top notch. My dog was bit by another dog and had a pretty nasty gash in her side. They were the third animal hospital that I called. Everyone else was full to capacity. The lady on the phone told me to come and they'd try to fit us in, but it might be a long wait. I was fully prepared to wait and it was a long wait. At one point it looked like they might have to turn us away. But the vet took the time to patch up our dog in between surgeries. She really went above and

This one is hard to write, but I want to offer my sincerest gratitude to Dr. McLeod and the staff at Bay Beach. We ended up at Bay Beach for an emergency with our elderly cat after being told by 3 other emergency vets that they could not take us due to staffing issues. Our cat had started panting and crying in pain and our options quickly became go to VB or go to Suffolk. We ended up at Bay Beach out of sheer necessity and timing. The staff did not know us, our cat, or any of our history, but they quickly got her in and started examination. Unfortunately the news was grim and our cat ended up passing

Horrible, deplorable excuse for a hospital! All of these people should have their licenses revoked. Honestly such a traumatic experience for myself and my family...Do not bring your pet here!

We had brought him earlier that day after discovering he had eaten several chocolate cookies. I was instructed to call an animal poison control hotline before he could even be seen. If you are all trained professionals, and this was an issue that wasn't that unique

Unfortunately covid is the answer to everything these days... Service is terrible it's covid you can't reach anybody through a phone line it's covid.. Even the website... Defaults you to read Our new procedure about covid then it won't let you Navigate anywhere else in the site... Emails they don't answer because they say that they don't have time answer any correspondence through their website.

They are an amazing group of people. My poor fur baby Howard got very sick one morning. I was distraught and brought him in. Turns out he had some sort of bleeding in his brain and there was nothing else to be done. As hard of a situation it was they were passionate and honest from start. I truly did appreciate it. When the time finally came where I had to make a choice they did allow me to come in and say goodbye. They gave me all the time I needed and I was so grateful. I received a hand written sympathy card after his death and I truly appreciate what they do here. It can't be easy to watch

I have to give DVM Kimberly Keys and her staff 10 stars. Our 8yo Dachshund Bandit hurt himself playing outside. My now former vet could not see we him so We called BBVH and told them the situation and they had us bring him in for a consultation. It turns out that he slipped/herniated a disc and caused rear leg paralysis. Dr. Keys told us our options and we chose to take him to the VA/MD vet school for further evaluation. Within 24 hours of seeing Dr.Keys to the 5 hour drive to Blacksburg. Bandit underwent emergency back surgery and has regained some control over his rear legs and is on the road

Cons- They will nickel and dime you to death, do things without your permission, and some of the Vets are very rude and condescending.

My 16-year-old pug started showing signs Saturday that her time had come. My regular vet was closed by then. Sunday came, and it was clear we needed to help her across the Rainbow Bridge. I called around and looked online and didn't find anything that was reassuring. To all the whining 1 star reviewers: Stop being so self centric and empathize with these people you morons. If you waited for 4 hours, so what? It's based on triage and they're professionals. They want to let you in as if you deserve to be let in as soon as you arrive. Pathetic.

I have been taking my dog Hope to Bay Beach for 10 years....10 YEARS...and today July 13, 2020 I was talked to by the most disrespectful staff EVER in my entire life. I will NEVER return to Bay Beach.
Hope was there on June 5, 2020 for her annual physical and she was doing great. NOTES by Dr Cronin:skin looks normal, hair coat in good condition, eyes clear, lungs clear, beautiful bloodwork, etc. Everything was perfect. Because of COVID I was not allowed to go inside of course & they said they would email my receipt. I called several times requesting it but never received it.
