Mt Pleasant is a full service Animal Hospital that has been here for over 25 years. Our mission is to provide the highest standard of quality care and compassion in veterinary medicine for our patients. We strive to be a welcoming, informative, and supportive service for our clients, while maintaining a superior working environment for our employees.
After receiving his undergraduate degree from Eastern Kentucky University, Dr. Banta graduated from the Auburn University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. He has practiced small animal and emergency veterinary medicine for over 22 years throughout the Tidewater area. He has a house full of animals with a special affection for German Shepherds.
We recommend regular wellness exams for the same reason your physician and dentist recommend them - if you can detect a problem in its early stages, it's more likely to be treated and resolved with less expense, less difficulty and better success. As the saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.
Senior pet wellness has vastly improved with the significant advances in veterinary care and technology and the greater understanding of the aging process. Our beloved pets are living far longer and healthier lives than they ever have before. A few lifestyle modifications and regular Mature Wellness Exams are an important part of a better quality of life for your four-legged family member.
Dental health is an important part of every pet's overall health and dental problems can lead to other health problems. Your pet's teeth and gums should be checked at their regular wellness exams by your veterinarian to check for early signs of problems and keep their mouth healthy. Veterinary dentistry can include adjustment, extractions, repairs, filing, and maintenance cleaning of your pets' teeth.

We have been going to Mt Pleasant Veterinary since 1976, and have always been impressed by their professionalism and caring ways with our pets. They have cared for our seven dogs over the years, and each one had a full life thanks to Dr Nethaway and Dr Banta and their teams.

Well let me be the first to write a bad review. I finally managed to get my moms dog to the vet. (She passed 2 years ago). I used care credit. Spent nearly 600.00.. Was told flea meds were included. And were in her bag. I never received them . i called and emailed them. My moms dog is still itching and miserable. I have no more money for her treatment. Ive never been ripped off by a vet like this in my whole life!!!

Using the website, and with no trouble at all, I was able to register my dog and set-up an appointment.
My rescue Pit who is extremely fear aggressive needed his rabies shot. Recognizing that having him near other animals (at the clinic) was going to be problematic, I explained the situation to the staff (Dr. Noce), and she went the extra mile to ensure the safety of my not only my pet, but also the staff, and other animals.

Positive: Professionalism, Responsiveness
This was my first time visiting, and I called under emergency circumstances. They saw my pup in 2 hours time when my (former) vet wouldn’t and neither could the ER vet. They were prompt and courteous. I really appreciate the fact that they treated us like a regular patient! We found a new vet!!

I have been bringing my dogs here for years and have always been pleased, but the current mix of vets and vet-tecs have really surpassed my expectations. Every one from receptionist to Vet seem to help make the visit worry free. The medical care given to my dogs is designed to keep them healthy, they are committed during emergencies, and everyone is downright friendly. You leave knowing that your animal has had the best care available.

Cant say enough great things! I've personally had Dr. Noce as one of my boys vet and she is just great! My two 🐾 kiddos got sick and I've been called at least three times since their first visit to see how they are doing in their recovery, I've had pets my whole life and I've never been to a more involved and caring clinic. They really do make your pets part of their family. My husband and I are 100% set on this being our vet for any future visits and pets! This will be the place I recommend to anyone looking for a vet!!
