My name is Stephanie Knight, licensed psychotherapist. I help women and teen girls identify and overcome emotional issues and addictions, either in group and/or one-on-one therapy. If you are experiencing depression, anxiety, eating disorders, addictions, mood swings, or relationship issues, you may benefit from Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

With its focus on mindfulness - living in the moment - DBT helps women gain control over their emotions, ultimately helping them lead calmer, more productive lives. Are you worried about your daughter? Do you feel like she over-reacts or becomes emotional too easily? Do you wonder how much of her behavior is "normal"- or when you should be concerned?
Services
I believe that life is a complicated journey and that we can often feel overwhelmed by its twists and turns. Reaching out for help during those times is a sign of strength. The appropriate therapeutic environment can provide the support and tools you need to get through life's rocky periods. These are the qualities I bring as a counselor to my therapeutic treatment sessions.
Therapy can address or answer many different needs - both emotional and mental. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults - with an emphasis in working with women and teen girls. Counseling sessions are undertaken both individually and in Group settings. We will work together to determine the most effective approach to meet your personal needs.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a method of treatment for women whose emotions cause major challenges in their lives. In DBT, you will discover healthy ways to handle stress, and how to temporarily distract yourself from those settings and situations that trigger it.

Using skills learned in our supportive and caring one-on-one therapy, and enhanced through group sessions, you'll learn how to prevent emotional overload and be able to more effectively handle conflicts with others. It is sometimes called "mindfulness meditation."
