Graze
Graze is an American style gastropub by Chef Tory Miller, focused on creating comfort food that utilizes and celebrates our region's incredible farms and producers. Located on Madison's Capitol Square, we invite you to enjoy the views, and peruse our eclectic offerings.

As is the tradition with a pub or tavern, we see Graze as a gathering place in our community - a place that is not work and not home, where you can go and feel comfortable, surrounded by familiar faces.Along with our regular menus, you'll have the option of Friday fish fries and weekend brunches. It is inspired by our love of people gathering over food and drink to spend some time together.
Services
Dine In & Take Out available. Sorry no events or large group bookings available at this time. We are only accepting parties of 6 or less. Masks are required in our buildings by all guests and employees. Please wear one anytime you are walking in the restaurant and not immediately seated at your table.
At Deja Food Group, we consider ourselves part of a larger community. Over 200 local vendors provide us with our meat, vegetables, fruits, and dairy. By buying directly from our producers, either at farmers' market or at our back door, we establish face-to-face relationships upon which friendships and a spirit of collaboration are built.
Graze sources most all of its ingredients from small farms in our region. Our eclectic menus allow you to taste the local terroir through farming practices that embrace the land where food is grown or raised: grass-fed beef, acorn and whey fed hogs, cave-aged cheeses, and an amazing variety of vegetables grown in Wisconsin's most fertile soils.

I got the Strozzapretti, Pork Buns, and Cheese Curds and it was all exceptional!

Super meaty cheese for the cheese curds, unbelievably tender meat in the pork buns, perfect noodles in the pasta, which had amazing cherry tomatoes that just popped, crunchy asparagus and Parmesan, creamy cheese. Just all around amazing food and service and outdoor seating.

My waitress was amazing and she had nothing but great recommendations!

Great food, great drinks and a great view of the capital building. Always super fun to come here. Graze is always a special place to come for dates, birthdays, or just for good food. The cheese curds are a must!

Amazing atmosphere which was eclectic, tastefully metro, and had extremely comfortable lighting. Brian was our server and was absolutely incredible. He is well spoken, friendly, and knowledgeable. Just a genuine, down to earth human making the world a better place. The food was absolutely incredible. Small menu focuses on quality, not quantity.

9/10. Cheese curds are exceptional, they go well with the ranch.
Mac and cheese was also fantastic with very tasty pulled pork on top. After I took it home the cheese was a little too sharp when it was cold but great overall.
Only downside is I got one of the nonalcoholic drinks and it was not great. I think maybe they tried to make it taste like there was alcohol in it which isn't what I anticipated. I just wanted a tasty drink.

We reserved a table at Graze for dinner and drinks Wednesday evening. They were able to tend to our needs quite well. Graze is one of my favorite restaurants in Madison! The food is absolutely delicious!

We started with the pan roasted brussels sprouts they were roasted with bacon, dried cranberries, in a vinaigrette. - Absolutely delicious

He had the Seven Seeds Pork Belly Carnitas, the marinade was wonderful.

I had the Bibimbap with tofu & sauce on the side. Every bite was delicious.

The high ceilings with the big windows give a feel as if you were outside downtown. In the evening

As a former Madison Resident and current flight attendant, any time someone asks me about some place to eat in Madison, this is hands down it. Food has never been bad. Any time you go it's good food, and you know where it came from. If you want to support local, this is it. If I had one gripe, it would be I wish they had a location where I live. However, it's a always a good reason to come home. Thank you Graze!

We stopped in on a whim one blustery evening. We had wanted to go to a different restaurant but they were closed (we had missed the post on Instagram). Thankfully we were close to Graze and they were open!

We grabbed a seat at the bar, which is our M.O. the bartender was nice and attentive. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is because they didn't tell us the specials and we missed out on the crab Rangoon burger. We know better now and will ask next time.

The ambience was delightful. It was snowy and cold outside but warm and cozy inside. Not too loud but enough that you felt

Just had a delicious family dinner here. Our food was wonderful from beginning to end. Our server, Nicole, was so nice and helpful. She could answer all our foodie questions. The Basque cake was really delicious, a personal favorite. What a beautiful setting, looking over at the Capital building all lite up.

Tall ceilings and large glass open windows overlooking the capitol square mark this restaurant. If you have lived in this city, have friends that live here, or are just visiting it is likely that you have heard of this place. I ended up here long after I expected to, filled with much hope.

The menu (you look it up online on your phone in the restaurant) is modest in variety and comprises mostly of American cuisine with a few straggling fusion dishes. Your standard drink menu for Wisconsin is available. We had the much raved about cheese curds, which were crisp, oily, and ok. We would try the smash

Very over priced- it's glorified American food. There are chicken nuggets as an appetizer option. I don't think I have to explain anymore than that. Despite the food, the staff is extremely nice and the venue is gorgeous. This restaurant may be better for people that are picky eaters. However, if you're not a picky eater and want to a restaurant with delicious food on the square, go to Lucille.

Stopped in for my first visit last weekend. I follow them on Instagram, and their burgers always look great, so I decided on the Seven Seas Farm Double Cheese Smashburger, with fresh cut fries, and a half order of fried cheese curds. I sat at the bar and received excellent service!

The cheese curds are made with a vodka batter, which I found to be light and crisp, allowing the cheese to be the star. They weren't overly greasy and I'd order them again! The fries were solid, but the cheeseburger was really great! The American cheese is from a local farm, so it tasted a little sharp to

Service and ambiance is great. The fish fry that me and my dining companion had lacked flavor and the fish had a mushy texture. Cheese curds were good and the fries with the garlic aoili were great. Definitely over priced if you based it on food quality and flavor but the ambiance and service make up for it.

Graze is a go to restaurant when we take a trip to Madison. Always a tasty experience and menu staples (like the yummy umami bomb Graze burger!) are mixed in with rotating seasonal, locally sourced meal options. Take shisito peppers, which you may not think of as a great appetizer choice, but roast them in a buttery garlic cream sauce and top with toasty bread crumbs and you've got yourself a real winner! You cannot beat the Vodka battered cheese curds! Slightly sweet with the melty goodness of cheese! Add that in with a Graze burger, which we split, mainly because it is so rich. Made with brisket

Let's just say I've had a lot of burgers in my time. The Graze Burger, albeit a little pricey, is THE BEST BURGER I've ever had. Not to mention, we got it on a gluten free bun. They need some more options on their menu, but everything we tried was simple and delicious. Salad and oysters are highly recommended too.

Seeing a lot more negative reviews for Graze after reopening from COVID. I went last night and a great experience! Burger is still on point, cocktails are great. I think my only complaint is the menu seems a bit smaller, but what they are making is great. Had this wild green and gold burgers for the Packers. Basically nachos on a burger, so good!

Go early because the restaurant fills up fast!! I got the beet and walnut burger which was excellent!! Didn’t carry a strong beet flavor. It tasted flavorful and fresh. We also got the sirloin burger which was delicious but very rich (a lot of meat). Fries ans salad were good. Staff were wonderful - informative, helpful and efficient. We got drinks from the bar but weren’t overly impressed.

Came here while in town for the CrossFit Games. We had reservations for two tables and were seated quite a bit of time (and distance) a part, and the service itself was quite slow overall. However, easily one of the best burgers I've ever had and great drinks. Would return for the food, hopefully when it's less busy!

Came here for dinner on a Friday night without reservations and was luckily seated! The floor to ceiling windows make a very open and light space. We started off with the shishito peppers and fried cheese curds. The cheese curds were perfectly light and crispy on the outside and nice and cheesy on the inside. For dinner, I had the Graze burger. The burger was very juicy. My friends had the pork belly, mac & cheese, and beet burger. All the dinner entrees were good, but nothing exceptional. For dessert, we had the warm chocolate chip cookies with milk. Overall, a nice place to grab dinner in

It lived up to the hype! Had heard mixed things about Graze, so went it pretty critical, but was pleasantly surprised that it lived up to it. Service was good (something I wasn't expecting based on other reviews on here) and drinks (non-cocktail menu) were actually fair priced ($8 tanqueray and tonic; $6.50 Irish coffee). Heirloom tomatoes app was yummy- standard, nothing like shocking as far as ingredients, but all done well and clearly fresh ingredients. Bibimbap was delish and portion was big enough for lunch leftovers the next day. Not super heavy or greasy too so it didn't feel unhealthy

I am so glad that we made reservations ahead of time for Graze. Google maps has the wrong address, so be sure to walk in towards the capital so that you don't miss the entrance.

Everything here was amazing. Our group started with the best cheese curds which came with this homemade dipping sauce that we saved for our entrees. We also split a beet salad which was so fresh. I could eat that everyday.

For dinner I had the special burger which featured an awesome burger patty with mozzarella, tomatoes, and the most flavorful pesto. Everything is homemade and tastes like it had just been picked

I visited Graze in late September. It was a gorgeous day, so I was seated on the patio. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. It was a shady patio, a great spot to sit. I did notice many small mice running around in the fenced-off mulched area adjacent to the patio, which appeared to be some kind of employee seating area for the local office buildings... While it was not technically part of Graze, it was somewhat off-putting as I tried to eat.

I ordered the Bibimbap per the servers suggestion, which was really delicious. It was a generous portion & was super flavorful. I especially

Food was great but the 10% service fee is horrible. The server said the business is trying to "tip share" and offset CoViD charges. Well there are a ton of reviews about horrible service, that's bc of this "equity" mindset this restaurant has implemented. Of course the service will be horrible when servers can't be compensated for working hard.
This is not how America works. Because of this service fee, I won't be coming back. At least the server was honest and told me to tip less, so I did. If eating out isn't affordable, I won't go. Last I checked

Night out with the girls and Graze was the perfect spot. Good food and great service. The menu had a quite a few vegetarian options so that's always nice. Busy restaurant so make reservations ahead of time. The bibimbap was my favorite. It was simply delicious and had the just the right kick of spice. We were seated outside and enjoyed the outdoor dining.

We were extremely disappointed with our experience at Graze. The food was amazing but the service was the worst we have had in years.

We were sat 10 minutes after our reservation and the service was inconsistent and inattentive throughout our meal. It was particularly frustrating as we had a late reservation so the restaurant was not full throughout our meal, making the poor service even more puzzling. Additionally, we could tell that some of the other tables were also having issues with their service as we over heard them talking about their displeasure.

Ben was our waiter and he was fantastic at offering suggestions. He will give you real advice on if you will like something or not.
The fries are amazing! With the garlic aioli. Definitely try the Magic Bullet. One of our faves.
The staff is friendly and our waiter was quick on his feet.

Such a disappointment, my wife and I were looking for a nice lunch meal. We have been sat by a gentleman and 10minutes after we still haven't seen anybody paying attention to us, so my wife went to the bar to informed them we were waiting.
She choose the Salmon sandwich, and I choose a burger. The salmon was a deep fried burned patti, that was disgusting, not just in taste but in appearance too. The burger meat was falling apart. The only good think was the French fries.
You can't blame that on covid, just bad cooking and service. They didn't charge us the salmon sandwich when

Revisited Graze during a quick business trip to Madison. I really enjoy the energy in this place. The service couldn't be better and the drinks well crafted. The food is a solid 3.5, but the Cheese Curds are still the star of this show. Definitely a great spot to hang out especially if you're with a large group.

The wife and I stopped by for dinner on a recommendation. Graze is in a great spot right across from the front of the Capitol building, and has options for indoor and outdoor seating.

The cheese curd appetizer was delicious. I have no idea how cheese can by melted and squeaky at the same time. Wisconsin magic. The ranch sauce had a sweet note, which was a surprising but not unwelcome twist on the most popular sauce in the Midwest.

I took a gamble with the bi bim bap. Not bad! The big twist was the rice, which came in several rectangular crispy, chewy rice. It was a bit cumbersome to mix up
