I have nothing but good things to say about this Vet Clinic, I have 3 dogs that I bring there. My last visit was because One of my puppies had a terrible diagnosis of a spine problem and couldn't walk, at the emergency hospital( on a Sunday) they said the only wat was surgery, Dr. PAUL at American Hospital also suggested a surgery, but also proposed a treatment in case surgery wasn't an option (we couldn't afford surgery) his assistance with our Dog was fenomenal and our puppy is back to almost normal is walkingand if we let she is also running and pretty much doing everything

The only Vet to go to in Mira Mesa ! Dr. Gill and his staff are compassionate and dedicated to the well being of all your pets. We have been taking our animals to American Animal hospital for what seems like a lifetime. We have always received the utmost respect and care for our animals.
From Angel's very first shots , several mishaps with her best buddy Nikki to the moment she took her last breath ,everyone at American animal hospital became family to me. All I can do is thank them, and let them know how much they are appreciated.

The crew at AAH are so friendly and helpful! I have been in more times than I would like, lately and they have been very accommodating with our emergencies. They are very reasonably priced, too. Since Covid started and the owners cannot go in, the vets actually call and explain in great detail what is happening, which is great!

I love everything about this vet clinic! First of all, they know you, second of all, they are super friendly. Also, their emergency system is very good and affordable! They have flexible openings and less hassle compared to Thrive since they are always booked out for couple weeks.

Great vet. Gets costumer service. My husky was sick and his usual vet didn't have any appointments for 2 weeks. AAH had n appointment available next day first thing in the morning and within 12 hours my dog was feeling much better with the combination of medication and food the gave him. Price-wise it is comparable to the vet I used to take him to (Thrive in Petco). Would recommend to anyone. Will be coming back.

I needed to get my daughters German Shepard Luca into see a specialist for a skin problem. The place I had been taking him couldn’t see him for almost 3 weeks. Animal Hospital was great, they would of taken him the same day I called but it was late afternoon so I got him in first thing next morning. All the staff was very pleasant with good humor to keep ya smiling. They treated him and now Luca is much more comfortable and at peace with himself which makes me very happy. If you love your pet, you will love them.

I can't say enough great things about this Vet office !! Very caring. The Dr. always listens to all your concerns and truly recommends only necessary treatment. They're not out to up-sell you anything. My elderly cat has many problems and they've been so great at keeping her going and comfortable. I've been recommending them to everyone I know that needs an honest reliable safe place to get care for their pets.

Words cannot express how much I love everyone at American Animal Hospital. I live in PB, and am willing to make the trek to Mira Mesa for all of my pupper's needs. My brother has been bringing his pup to AAH for the last few years, so when I adopted my baby last year, I knew she would be in great hands! The staff is always super friendly, and always remembers us when we come in or I call. My moms been taking our dog here for years. It wasn't until I decided to take their dog in as mine during covid and take him to his vet appointments that I was able to witness the genuine, thorough and kind care that Dr. Paul and his team provide! When I found out from a groomer that my dog, Jack had dead fleas after visiting a dog park I took him in to see Dr. Paul and although they didn't find any fleas they didn't hesitate to address my concern of Jacks itching and redness and prescribed him a flea medication after being careful to confirm that Jack didn't have any history

We've been taking our cats there for several years now. First to doctor Gill, now doctor Paul. The staff is friendly and obviously enjoys their work. The doctors really care about your pets' health and it's not uncommon for them to call to check in a day or two later on how your pet is doing. They tell you straight what they think (good or bad) and obviously understand how close we are to our pets. The costs are fair and I've never had any surprises; they check with you before everything.

Dr. Gill and his staff are very friendly and professional. I've been taking my dog to American Animal Hospital for the past 14 years, and he has received exceptional care in their hands. Just got back from a check up and vaccines for our Saint Bernard Jack. All of the staff were extremely kind, helpful, and patient with our big boy. The doctor was kind and explained everything well. We were in and out of there with a check up, vaccines, and a nail trim in less than an hour! Very happy with our experience and will return here again for our next check up!

I have mixed feelings about this place. I walked up with my elderly cat in my arms for an appointment to have her cross over. Which is a painful moment for anyone who truly loves there pet. The veterinary assistant came out was expecting me to hand over my baby without a doubt I told her no. She had no emotional feeling towards my dad and I. However there was a nice va who came out with tissues and was full of compassion told us that it will be ok and im sorry about our baby. So the other va told us the pricing and what they can do for us. Then she continued to tell us the have a table out back

Called in and got a discount to neuter my baby Groot!
They can get busy so it's better to call at least a week ahead to make sure there's a slot available.
Overall loved the experience! I made the appointment a week ahead and we were instructed to bring our dog between 7:30-9:00 and we could pick him up after 5. We got there at exactly 7:30am and after signing some forms, we were on our way. I got a call around 2 telling me Groot was ready for pickup and he was all ready!
What I loved the most was the care they put into Groot. The receptionist was kind and commented on Groot&apos

As a pet owner, not knowing what is wrong with your animal can be extremely anxiety-evoking & worrisome, since we have no real way of communicating with our animals & figuring out what is wrong. American Animal Hospital does a great job of bridging the language barrier between pet & pet-owner with their thorough examinations & explanations.
