Welcome to Li'l Sunshine Smiles, offering Children's Dentistry to the Tampa, Florida, area! We focus our skills on giving confidence to your child and putting BOTH parent and child at ease. Because of the fear and anxiety that sometimes comes with dental appointments, we strive to treat your children as if they were our own.
Dr. Catalina her patient's call her Dr. Cat was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia. During her grade school years, she excelled both academically and athletically. She enjoyed volleyball and swimming, where she became part of her high school swimming league. She also developed an interest in arts and learned how to play the classical guitar.
Everything at our bright, open children's dental office in Tampa, Florida was designed with kids in mind. We believe children should feel comfortable coming to the dentist, and aim to make their experience as fun, and comfortable as possible. The patients here in Tampa actually look forward to going to the dentist, as everything here is approachable, safe, and fun.
I have to highly recommend this office. I took my grandson here. The staff is professional, courteous and on time. The doctors, Dr. Brandon and Dr. Catalina, were very thorough and explained all the treatment really well. I walked in the door and was immediately taken to a room with my grandson - no waiting.

It was time to find a new dentist for my son as the last place no longer accepted his insurance. He’s 7 years old and I still wanted him to go to a pediatric dentist! I’m so glad we found li’l sunshine smiles! The staff was very personable and they took the time to answer the questions I had. I never felt rushed and my son has anxiety when he goes to the dentist said to me when we got home “Mom, I think they are just trying to get my teeth heathy!” I 100% agree with his statement. Took my 6 year old here who doesn't like going to the dentist. Naturally right. Who does lol. But the entire staff were friendly, kind, patient with their patient, and you can tell they truly care and enjoy what they do. When my son got nervous or scared, they reassured him he was okay and would show him the tools and how they work on his finger to better get him comfortable with the work being done in his mouth. Brought my 19 month old son for his first dental appointment. All the staff was kind and professional. Dr. Botero was patient, professional and knowledgeable. The office is perfect for little ones, keeping them entertained with their favorite show while they examine and clean their teeth. So happy I chose this office to be our dental home. I have a 5 year old son with sensory processing disorder that had been deemed “uncooperative” from a local dentist. We were then referred to their sister practice 1.5 hours away that specialized in “special needs” because my son crying in a sensory overload due to loud drills was an issue, even though I previously discussed it with them prior. I cannot express in words what a wonderful and welcoming experience my son and I had with Dr. Catalina Botero and her staff. We were instantly greeted with smiles from all of the staff. My three kids have been seen Dr. Cat for over a year now and they love how nice everybody is to them, they’re always excited to watch their favorite shows during their cleaning (on the TVs above their chairs) and they look forward to the treasure chest prizes after every visit. I would recommend this dentist.
