I've never been to a restaurant that made me feel more at home, or like I was having dinner at Grandma's house for a fancy holiday dinner. Everything I had was phenomenal and so was the service. It's been a long time since I've been anywhere close to this where the customer is truly treated like family.
Filomena is located in the very heart of Georgetown, only 1/2 block south of the intersection of M Street and Wisconsin Avenue. We are in Georgetown at 1063 Wisconsin Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20007 (202) 338-8800; 1 (888) FILOMENA. Filomena Restaurant has no parking of its own and does not offer Valet parking.

Good, not great and not worth the hype. I wanted to like this place, the ambiance is lovely. For context: I went during restaurant week, so I am interested to come back and order from the regular menu. The bread and dessert (cookies n cream cake) were delicious, the arancini and gnocchi della mamma tasted extremely average.

My husband and I visited Filomena during restaurant week. The food was outstanding from the bread with the best tasting olive oil dip I've ever had through to the mousse cakes at the end. Highly recommend if you're looking for good Italian food in DC

Filomena is a very hyped DC restaurant and I was excited to try it. Came for restaurant week week left mostly disappointed. It doesn't meet the hype though the overall experience was good.

The pros:

The service is outstanding. The waitstaff are extremely professional and attentive. They box your food up for you at the end and you get a nice little complimentary amaretto with your dessert.

The portions are HUGE. You will not leave hungry and will have plenty to take home.

The dessert is phenomenal. That cookies and cream mouse cake WOW, so delicious!

The ambience is adorable. It was all

Went to Filomena this weekend for dinner and was not disappointed. After seeing the portion sizes at the table next to us, my partner and I decided to split our meal. We ordered meatballs and Caesar salad to start, Rigatoni Con Salicce as an entree and finished the night with cannoli. Even with splitting the meals we took most of the entree and dessert home as leftovers (which tasted even better the next day!) our sever was attentive and helpful and the food was delicious.

While the restaurant observed DC's newest vaccine mandate (our reservation was the first day the mandate was enforced

So good! Came here for a work lunch and it was amazing! You walk downstairs to a beautifully decorated room, apparently they do this for every season/holiday and go all out! Since it's closer to Valentine's Day, Cupid, fresh flowers, hearts, doves and other decorations were up. Our waiter was so friendly and place was almost empty. The tables sit tight so I can imagine when it's a packed house.

Food was bomb! Their bread felt sooo fluffy and tasted fresh. It is accompanied by a delicious oil. The food came out quick. Servings are good for 2 per plate - I mean it's Italian,

Filomena is a renowned restaurant in DC that is nothing short of fantastic. My partner had never been before and we decided to make a reservation for a date night. I'm not the biggest fan of Italian food but I mean it when I say that Filomena isn't just Italian food--it's an Italian experience. As soon as you walk down the stairs and enter, it's as if you're transported into an Italian grandmother's home. When we arrived, we got some drinks at the bar while we waited for our table. We drank Rose Prosecco's, which was delightful. Once we were seated, we ordered

Having parked in Georgetown for over a year walking past this establishment so many times admiring the decor and never having stopped in I am ashamed of myself. I can't believe it's been right under my nose this entire time. For my first visit I went for a birthday dinner with a small group, they sat us within minutes of arriving and were very understanding of the delay in our arrival. As you know parking in Georgetown is very limited and requires a actual search. It took a little while to find a spot but once we did it wasn't but a block or two away.

I decided to start with a

I can't recommend this restaurant enough. The food is amazing and truly authentic Italian. It is a little pricey but worth every penny. Service was fantastic and very attentive. They also gave a a little after drink. We had a choice of amaretto or Sambuca.

One of the best Italian restaurants in DC. This place has it all. Menus with covers that list all the celebrities who dined with them, gotta interior, Lace placemats, big waitstaff who look like mobsters during their free time. If you don't throw your napkin in your shirt when you eat the pasta here, you are doing it wrong.

All the food was fresh! They even have master pasta makers making hand made pasta on display as you walk in.

The chicken parm, sea bass, calamari, pastas, and cakes were all top notch. If you are looking for hearty Italian in the DC area. Come to Georgetown

Pardon pardon pardon this very very late review, please. It's been quite a year guys and gals.

So Filomena Ristorante- this is IT! I wish it was here so that I could have it for dinner tonight lol! This should be required dining on trips to DC. Yes required! If you don't add it to your collection/places to try in DC, well I don't know how else to convince you okay? But hear me out.

After being seated, we were greeted promptly and had water delivered to us along with bread and butter. Yep, bread and butter! Ahhh! There were also wipes given to each of us in ziplock bags: the red

Filomena’s was AMAZING, not only for the exceptional food but beautiful Christmas decor! My husband says the best Italian Restaurant he’s ever been to! 🇮🇹 Our (picky) girls also LOVED IT! We started with… MOZZARELLA IN CARROZZA which was delicious! Bryan got the highly favorited by President Reagan and President Clinton RISOTTO AGLI SCAMPI, and I had the RAVIOLI ALLA MATRIMONIA🍝, girls penne alla vodka 😋

Filomena is really something else. Hands down one of the best restaurant/culinary experiences I've had in my entire life.

Juan was my server. An absolute gentleman. He gave me meal recommendations tailored to my interests. Thank you, Juan for making me feel so welcomed at your restaurant.

I had the Chilean Seabass--phenomenal!

To drink, I had an old fashioned with Basil Hayden's. They have it down to a science.

This place is no joke.

The decor--never seen anything like it (photo attached). Unfortunately restaurants like Filomena are a dying breed. The professionalism in this establishment

Was in DC for a football game and decided to hit up as many restaurants within the 5 day tour. At any point in time while visiting the nation's capital please make your way to the Georgetown area and enjoy the many splendors of Ristorante Filomena! As soon as the server greets you just put it in and wait...."Linguini Cardinale please"......
Hands down the best Lobster pasta dish I have ever had!!!!!!! The beautiful chucks of lobster meat and claws are
In abundance . The sauce itself tastes like a Lobster Bisque from the heavens. Creamy and so so so so tasty. It's big enough

Absolutely an amazing dining experience all around. Great cocktails at the Bar. Lino the Maitre’D was excellent at squeezing us in without a reservation and the food is outstanding with very generous portions.… Service is fantastic. Overall a great experience! I will be returning. Try the Ossobucco with the mushroom risotto followed by the Tiramisu with an unsweetened espresso poured over it. Thank me later…

I'm so sad that I don't have any pictures, but this is such an amazing restaurant! Honestly, I was probably so gobsmacked by the portion size that I forgot to take pictures! But there will definitely be a next time for me to take some photos!

They always have the most festive decorations during holidays, and they have excellent food. Also, did I mention that the portions are large? If you look up the definition of generous in the dictionary, you'll see a picture of literally any entree that they serve!

The host station and servers are always so warm and welcoming, and it just makes

Don't go if you have celiacs.

One star for the decor - very festive for the holidays (on November 13). One star for the portions - huge but you pay for them.

The positives stopped there. Jammed on a Saturday night, we were seated after a 10 - 15 minute wait. And, did they pack them in. After grabbing a bottle of wine (very good and reasonably priced) we ordered. I went out of my way to stress my celiacs to the waitress and she said that the Veal Saltimbocca would be fine and that they would make that and the side pasta special with no gluten, she had spoken to the chef. Apparently

Ah! Finally. We were lucky to be able to use OPEN TABLE to make an online reservation the day of, as they usually don't have this option due to being pretty busy. We took 9:00 PM and went with it.

I enjoyed the entrance with the nice lady working with pasta in the window and then also I liked how you went down the stairs to get to the restaurant.

Its always nice to have one person constantly and only greet customers so that you never feel lost or out of place. This is a touch that some restaurants just don't have.

I ordered Orvieto, which is not often a menu option and of course
