Kindness Animal Hospital
Kindness Animal Hospital is dedicated to providing quality pet health care from our professional staff that are committed to our clients, their pets, and our community. We proudly serve small companion animals of Wheaton and surrounding areas in Maryland. At Kindness, we believe that preventative health care is the best medicine.

Regular physical examinations serve as the foundation for all preventative care. We believe that immunizations and laboratory testing should be tailored to the needs of the individual patient and address the concerns of the client. Here at Kindness Animal Hospital we believe that "one size does not fit all."
Services
At Kindness Animal Hospital, we strive to provide the very best veterinary care for dogs and cats. Our practice is a member of the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA). Practices that are AAHA Member Facilities must first voluntarily meet extremely rigorous standards set forth by the association for both the facility as well as the professional care its doctors and staff provide.
At Kindness Animal Hospital, we are proud to offer quality medical care for companion animals. We understand and delight in the benefits that companion animals bring into our lives and families. We believe that all of our clients and patients deserve a customized and personalized experience when seeking medical care.
Our veterinarians and staff are proud to provide comprehensive medical services for your family pet in a friendly and compassionate environment. Veterinary medicine continues to make strides so that your pet can enjoy a long and healthy lifestyle; we make every effort to incorporate the latest techniques in veterinary medical care at Kindness Animal Hospital.
Let Kindness Animal Hospital provide a professional veterinary exam for your kitten, puppy, cat, or dog. A physical exam is the smartest and easiest way to keep your pet healthy. Wellness exams allow our veterinarians to detect problems and diseases that might go undiscovered otherwise, including heart murmurs, tumors, enlarged organs, cataracts, ear infections, ear mites, dental disease, skin issues and allergies.
At Kindness Animal Hospital, our goal is keeping your pet happy and healthy. Thanks to modern diagnostics and our on-site laboratory, we're able to do just that for sick and injured pets. Kindness Animal Hospital uses a well-respected, industry-leading external reference laboratory for the majority of its blood and urine testing.

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Reliability, Responsiveness
The Kindness staff is always professional, kind, and caring. We have been taking our large dog to Kindness for 10 years, and we have never had a bad experience. I would recommend Kindness to anyone who has a pet that they care about deeply.

Kindness has provided excellent care to our two cats for many years. They do a nice job with their covid protocols and have been flexible with scheduling.

Great vets and staff, but I am super disappointed to learn that they are canceling their Saturday hours in the new year, and only offering appointments between 9:30am and 5:30pm! It’s hard for some of us to take time off during the work day to update shots and other routine needs - especially if you them have to commute to/from downtown DC. Not building in any flexibility during the week for clients sends a clear message.
I’m sad to have to move on.

They're very Pricey ... They take advantage. Called to make an appointment the other day. My dog is sick. Girl took all my info. Said she was new someone would get back to me. No.one ever did get back to me. Never was overly pleased there. Not the first time there have been communication issues there. Tends to always be something quirky there. Alot of times they tell you to just keep calling back everyday right at 8:00 am. Like what is that. Appointments seem to be a challenge there.
I went somewhere else.

Excellent hospital. Extremely professional and personable, a rare combination. They've been taking care of my pets for over 20 years. They are always bringing in new therapies and treatments to keep my animals healthy and happy.

Being my first time here it was a great and smooth experience. The curbside pick up was flawless. The check up took about 20 minutes and they were so sweet to my cat.
The staff that took care of us were all knowledgeable and caring. I will definitely be coming back!

Not happy at all with my experience, thought it was very, very expensive and did not get good care. Took my elderly (17 year old) dog to see about end of life plan. She was choking so bad, she would black out, she was having, what I think were strokes and falling down. Was talked into all kinds of care and blood test, that was an outrageous cost, then told she was very healthy. We had to put her down a week later. Thanks for the very bad service.

The care my dog receives is good. But everything else about the experience is frustrating. I've made 3 appointments to drop off my dog. When you arrive, you call and let them know you're outside. They say they'll come get him, and half an hour later you're still waiting. My average wait has been 40 minutes. Same when they call you to come pick him up. I understand there may be a back log to see the doctor, but that doesn't mean they can't get him promptly and keep him there until the doctor is ready, freeing up your time. They like the animals, but there's an

I got a laugh at the reply the practice left in response to my review: "Hmm, we don't have a record for you coming here," as if to imply I'd made up my story or I am addled and confused this vet practice up with another. After reading all the other reviews of Dr. Katz, including the one that recounted that the Maryland State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners had fined him and put him on probation, I feel more validated than ever that my experience with him was consistent with others'.

This place could not be more aptly named. After a sudden illness with my elderly cat, and despite being a new patient, we were swiftly seen and and provided with top notch care (and compassion) that I truly believe saved my cat's life. They took the time to explain my options, as well as the cost associated therewith, and have hands down earned this 5-star review. Huge thanks to Dr. Williamson, Dr. Neunzig, Devon, and all the other staff members we dealt with. Keep up the great work!

This hospital has been very helpful any time my Shih Tzu has any problems, which are many. They offer same-day sick appointments even if they're all booked, and are pretty quick!

As for the vet that treated my shih tzu, I can't say the same. My dog came to Dr. Zolkiewicz for an ultrasound for stomach problems. I also mentioned there was a bump to the side of his stomach I was concerned about. In response without even fully checking his body, he told me it was his belly button, when it was actually a swollen lymph node alluding to a more serious illness. I only found this out after visiting

I am currently out of town and my kitty broke his femur. I took him to two hospitals and hated both. Finally he went to kindness and had great care. They called me and updated me often on his status, and were very very kind and pleasant. Will definitely be bringing Zeus back to them.

It's almost impossible to get anyone on the phone. It either rings forever -- with no voicemail -- or when the front desk picks up they put you on hold for a long time -- more than 10 minutes. I've seen this when I'm actually there, too -- they clearly don't care about their customers. There have been multiple times when there are two people at the front desk yet only one person is on the phone. How is that efficient?

The front desk staff is disorganized in other ways. The guy there can never remember whether or not I was given the meds or if I'd been seen or whatnot.

Heartless non caring greedy crooks. This is the most badly named business ive ever heard of.
There are geese that live across the street from this vet. they cross University Blvd 6 lanes of traffic, close to Georgia Avenue every day. Today I saw one get clipped by a car just ahead of me right in front of this so called get clinic. he was still walking but limping badly and in obvoius pain. i stopped my car in the turning lane and atopped oncoming rushimg traffic to avoid killing this adorable creature. I calmly and frimly walked up to the goose annd picked him up gently supporting his wings but

This practice is literally twice as expensive as my previous vet (who retired.) I have only been for well-dog visits and I never leave with a bill less than $400.00 I liked Dr.Z, Dr.Katz not so much.. They did miss doing a Lyme disease test on my dogs and I had to bring them back in. Here is why I will never go back-----they won't even okay flea medications at Pet Meds, which is a lot more affordable. Some lame excuse .....but of course I can buy the meds at their place of business at, you guessed it, twice the price. NAUGHT
