Well, I wanted to be a dentist as long as I can remember. I know most kids think about being a police officer or a fireman, but I wanted to be a dentist as long as I can remember. I grew up in Richardson and went to elementary, junior high, and high school in Richardson.
I graduated from Pearce High School, and I graduated from SMU, which is here in Dallas, and then graduated from Baylor Dental School, which is here in Dallas, so I've never left this place.

Our dentist is awesome and does amazing work on me and my husband. He is very friendly and so is the entire staff. The receptionist are so kind and thoughtful and always make me feel so welcome when I come in for my teeth cleaning. I adore the dental hygienist because they make you feel extremely comfortable during my teeth cleaning and I never feel rushed. We will always use this dental establishment and highly recommend it to anyone seeking top notch service.

I’ve had great experiences each visit. There’s very little wait time. The dentist and my hygienist are both very attentive. I have a vestibular disorder and dental appointments are hard on me for that reason. The hygienist is very caring and checks on how I’m doing through the cleaning process. I couldn’t ask for better care.

I started going to Dr Barfield when I first moved to North Dallas 25 years ago and continue today even though I’ve moved to Frisco. His attention to detail as well as his staff gives me the confidence my procedure will be done right.
I’m very happy with my recent cosmetic porcelain verniers installed over my 6 front top teeth. My front two teeth had cracked and were darkening keeping me from smiling big in pictures. He recommended the porcelain verniers and was able to get my insurance to pay for $1,200 of it.
As he promised, they look great and look and feel like my teeth. My smile is back

I’ve been a client of 1st In Smiles for over 10 years now and I still receive superior service. I was able to get an appointment quickly and easily. My hygienist, Tara, is phenomenal. She provided the most pain-free cleaning I’ve ever had. She is very detailed and thorough in her process. Love this place. I now drive over 20 miles to get my dental services, but I can’t think of going anywhere else but here.

I've just started treatment/procedures for dentures with these lovely people. So far everything has been fantastic. The ladies at the front are super helpful and friendly and the dentist I saw was thorough both in the exam and in explaining procedural needs to me.
Right now I am very happy with my choice.
The only reason I've withheld a star is because my denture is still in process.
Will review again/update when my work is complete. 👍

I’ve been going to 1st in Smiles for 6 years, my parents have been going for a little longer. And I will never go anywhere else. The staff is always pleasant. Dr. Barfield is awesome, he has improved my oral health tremendously. If you are looking for a dentist that makes you feel special and takes care of all of your oral needs without being in pain. 1st in Smiles is the place to go. I live over 40 minutes away from his office now, but I will forever make the drive. Try them out, you will not be disappointed.

I can't imagine a better dental experience! I was able to get appointments right away, the dentist and staff were wonderful, and the root canal didn't even hurt! They accepted my insurance and went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Super professional and sincerely friendly. I am totally satisfied with my experience. No one wants another root canal, but when that time comes, I will definitely go back to 1st in Smiles 😃
