Dr. Sam Varon is a graduate from the University of California, Davis with a degree in Animal Science and the distinction of highest honors. He went on to attend UC Davis' School of Veterinary Medicine, where he specialized in companion animals. He has special interests in surgery, reproduction, oncology and end of life care.

After many years traveling far to our vet who we will always respect and love--the pandemic changed a lot and the drive was too much. We found Broadway Vet Hospital after a trial at another midtown location where they handed me my dog without giving her her rabies shot.
Anyways I'm glad I found Broadway vet! We really like doctor Tyler. He is very professional, honest, and great communication with him. The staff are also very gracious and friendly taking good care especially of my furry loved ones. The prices are as expected and stand fair.

This Clinic would not hesitate to go beyond to help your pet. Our boy’s doctor Tyler is an amazing doctor and we are blessed to have him. Diamond was very ill needed emergency treatment /surgery and he received excellent care. We are so thankful for all the doctors surgeons did for our baby.

I was visiting the area during Christmas time when my dog needed an urgent, but not quite emergency surgery. I spent 3 hours on the phone trying to find a vet who would even see my dog as many places aren’t taking new clients or were booked for a few weeks. Not only could Broadway Vet perform the surgery the following day, I found the quote to be reasonable.
The surgery ended up being more complicated than anticipated and my dog needed to be transferred to UC Davis for a highly specialized procedure only offered at a handful of places on the west coast.

Even though they were booked when I needed an appointment for our pup with a possible infected stitch they asked for a pic and asked all kinds of questions on how she was acting. We got our pup in later that week and all went well. Our pup liked them and we thought their prices were very reasonable. The vet seemed knowledgeable with our French/English bull dog mix which is great!

Thank you to all the vet techs and vets who work here, they truly care about your pets, they work hard to not pass on too many costs to you or recommend further costly intervention when it's not necessary. Despite the constraints of covid, they still provide wonderful care and make the humans feel comfortable and informed.

Hands down the best vet I’ve ever taken my dogs to. We have 3 dogs, one of which is a Frenchie which I’m pretty particular about who he sees because they have health issues to begin with. Dr. Tyler Baum is amazing, explains everything so I can understand what’s going on. Dr. Sam has bulldogs and completely understands the whole breed so well. The staff is so sweet and always on top of things. We’ve had a few allergic reactions to foods and we were able to be seen immediately and they were very responsive to seeing him quickly. Customer service and transparency is everything..and this place kinda lacks it. initially brought my puppy here bc they were the only ones with immediate appointments during early COVID. puppy package was great but always got off vibes from staff.
interaction with the actual vet was condescending and met with dismissive remarks about my pet's issues. I've owned dogs my entire life and was left treated like an uninformed first time dog owner. I get it you're busy, but you can try being kind and you would probably get that back.

This vet killed my dog.
That's tragically and sadly not an exaggeration. Their negligence in withholding her insulin medication and doing 0 to inform me of just how serious that could be, led directly to her death just a few days later. Don't get me wrong, I knew it was important and had begged them to refill the prescription, but the way they made it sound on the phone telling me to just wait until her checkup 9 days after her insulin ran out, directly led to her rapid deterioration and death. Other than the diabetes, she was in great health just a few days ago.

Broadway vet is wonderful! The doctors and assistants are all very knowledgeable, empathetic, and enthusiastic every time I take my cats for a visit. Even though I've moved away from midtown, I still bring my babies here for all their vet needs because I've had such positive experiences with everyone there!

This place is absolutely amazing! They had no availability for surgeries the day I brought my dog in, and Sam canceled his lunch to help my dog August West! These folks genuinely care about their patients as well as the humans in charge of them! I will recommend Broadway to everyone I know. Thank you so much Broadway pet hospital!

If I could give this place more than five stars I would! I just recently had to put my dog down that I had for 17 years , the doctor and the staff were beyond kind and amazing!! It wasn't easy but they let us take all the time we needed with him for our last goodbyes. A couple of weeks afterwards they even called to let me know they made us a clay paw print for him, and I am beyond speechless. Genuinely great people with the kindest souls who really just want to help. Thank you guys again so much for making this a little easier!

Finally! I feel blessed to have found this place! They were originally recommended for a difficult surgery that my regular vet couldn't do, but we've stayed here. Spectacularly skilled vets (no, seriously, super smart, great listeners, talented surgeons, and very up to date on new treatments), compassionate staff, very reasonable prices. The covid situation is handled fairly well. You call from your car and they come to you to collect your pet. It does mean the phone can get backed up a bit but the care they give more than makes up for an occasional inconvenience. They were THE MOST sensitive when

My dog was a patient here for a few months in 2019. At the time, it was the only vet who could take same-day appointments. (My understanding is that they had just switched owners and reopened.)
The waiting room is tiny. Honestly, I'm docking a star just for that because it's too crowded for the amount of people waiting for an appointment or to check out. It can get particularly crowded by the door because the checkout desk is right there, too.
I came to get the two-shot k9 flu vaccine. They were able to take my dog quickly for the most part, but, again, checkout was a nightmare.

Dr. Tyler and the staff are just the best! We arrived for checkin on surgery day and they said they would come to the car since it was so cold and rainy outside. Once they took our Liz Dr.Tyler came out to go over the surgery one more time and said he would keep me updated on the progress of the surgery throughout the day, which he did! Needless to say my worries were put at ease with the professionalism and support from the staff. It's difficult to find a trusting vet but if you are in the market Broadway Vet is the place to go!

As anyone with pets knows, vet care is expensive. It's not like there is anything like pet insurance like humans have, and vets rarely seem to comprehend that. My pug had an ear infection so it was imperative that I find a vet as soon as possible. After calling around and vets being booked, I can across this vet. They luckily had a cancellation and was able to take her in.
You call once you arrive and wait outside. They go over all of the exam and suggestions before they do any kind of work. They were super friendly and worked as quickly as they could. I will definitely be bringing my second dog in!

10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for a great vet with PHENOMENAL staff. Not only were they able to get my dog in for a FHO surgery within a week and some odd days(when all other vets were booked out months out and with OUTRAGEOUS rates) but they reassured me that my dog was in great hands!

My vet was closed during Covid, so we took our pup into broadway based on their reviews, and we were not disappointed at all. All the staff was so friendly and welcoming, and so were all the patients coming in with their pets. Our vet addressed all our needs and spent a little extra attention on an issue with our pup that we didn't even notice. They also offer a program for vet bills! You just register, and for your next visit, it applies a portion of what you already paid towards your next copay. All in all, we love this place and so happy it's near home.
