Horrible, i usually oder dinner from this place. it's most of the time hit or miss. the last time, i ordered a chicken fried steak dinner. all i got was a dollop of mash potatoes, a meat patty of something, and bread. no gravy and no vegetables. don't even want to get into what the rest of the order looked like. this is the worst food i've had from them.

Spotty service (some wait-persons are great, others prefer to chat among themselves and make fun of Republicans). Food is "ok," but your clothes smell like smoke when you leave. Lastly, they are often closed when they claim to be open. I have come to like the friendly service and food at Cafe Soleil on the Dam Road (even iHop is better and their hours are good).

The whole experience was wonderful; their menu is complete with pictures and easy to read. 👏 although I've eaten here several times, it was seamless! Our waitress was extremely thoughtful to bring water (hot, cold & refills), to not rush us & me (while waiting nearly 25 minutes for my guest). The food was cooked 😋 to perfection. I enjoyed chocolate chip pancakes 🥞 with link sausages, and Bob ordered the mushroom omelet, which he thoroughly enjoyed! My bill, including tip, was $31 - reasonable considering I had more to eat at home. Go to Embers & enjoy your experience!

Service is bad and food is meh at best. The Asian waitress is rude and always has been. No wonder why I always hear her griping about tips. Nevertheless she always has time to be on her phone while coffee cups sit empty, but she sure is quick to bring you that bill even when you've just gotten your meal. Not coming back.

I'm writing this review about customer service regarding the woman who answered the phone today. I wanted to have food delivered to my mom and this person had the most unfriendly, unhelpful and downright rude attitude.
Their website says they deliver, but when I asked, she said it was through DoorDash. I went to DoorDash which said they don't include Embers (which I'm sure was user error on my part), so when I phoned back, she snapped "Well, I've got a bunch of Door Dash orders right here". I said your website says you deliver--and nothing about DoorDash--and she

I feel the pandemic really did something to this restaurant.
I use to go there to have their comfort food.
Meat loaf, fried chicken and breakfast.
On a previous visit their fried chicken was dry and you could barely see the wings. It was so small on the plate they should have left it off.
On a recent trip I wanted meatloaf and was told they discontinued it permanently.
My second choice was breakfast and the waitress said it was too late.
I like to go and patronize community restaurants but since I've struck out on meals I'm use to, I will not be returning

Week days it's awesome but when busy not as good. At noon on Father's Day they were out of Diet Coke. Seated quickly but no one came to take our order. Finally came over for drinks but dropped them and left. Still have not ordered.
They are busy but how bout you have staff? Not every table is full and still no wait to be seated. I normally come during the week and it's great. Like 5 stars but first time on a weekend and very disappointed

Update: The Embers now has three tables outside for outdoor dinning. One table can seat four people while the other two tables can sit down two people.
The outdoor dinning looks relaxing. The past few times I have past by the Embers it hasn't been too crowded. I have stop by during lunch/dinner time and only seen take out orders.
The Embers is accepting take out orders. Suggestion is to call your order a few minutes before arriving...maybe call them 10-20 minutes. If you prefer to order when you arrive they are allowing in person ordering...just wear a mask when you come inside the Embers

Did take out this time. Had the fried chicken and ribs. The chicken wasnt bad , the ribs had a good smoky flavor but were tough dry and overcooked. It was like eating pork jerky. I dont see a need for a cut in half grilled hamburger bun to be tossed on top. Gordon Ramsey wouldve face palmed at that.
Great quiet place to eat. They have some great bbq and french dip sandwiches but they cannot make a pastrami sandwich very well

Been coming here for 25+ years. From the moment you walk in the smell of BBQ makes you feel at home. The staff is a little cranky at time but the service is always great. I have yet to come in here that it wasn't busy. No frills decor just really great food, at an affordable price, served by hardworking staff that have never disappointed me.
