Dr. Barker grew up in Cary, just a few miles away from the Cardinal Family Dentistry office. Since she was young, Dr. Barker has been passionate about both science and art. After volunteering in the UNC Hospital Dental Clinic, Dr. Barker realized that a career in dentistry would allow her to combine her passion for science with her artistic abilities, and the rest is history!
At Cardinal Family Dentistry, we focus on preventive care and education to ensure that our patients have healthy mouths and strong teeth. We offer preventive services like sealants and periodontal care, and we also offer solutions like crowns and fillings for common dental issues. The American Dental Association recommends that you see a dentist for regular checkups every 6 months.
To determine whether you are a good candidate for dental implants, Dr. Barker will assess your dental health during a consultation. Since implants are permanently affixed to your gums, treatment requires that a patient have sufficient jawbone and healthy gums to support an implant. The most common cosmetic treatment, and often the most affordable, is teeth whitening. Teeth whitening uses special "peroxides" to bleach away teeth stains caused by the consumption of dark coffee & tea, berries, and tobacco use. This treatment is non-invasive and pain-free, and the results are almost immediate.
We offer a variety of new patient specials, including a first appointment at Cardinal Family Dentistry for just $79. This special offer includes a comprehensive cleaning from one of our dental hygienists, an oral exam by Dr. Barker, and x-rays for your little one, if necessary. We use digital x-rays to ensure that we minimize your little one's exposure to radiation.

Dr. Barker and her staff are excellent providers. My crowns look so natural and the Cerec enabled me to get 2 crowns the same day. The color of the crowns matched perfectly. Dr.Barker takes time to explain all procedures. Her assistant was very helpful and knowledgeable. My husband and I look forward to our next appointment. The office ladies are polite and respectful. The new office is comfortable and an elevator to 2nd floor makes access easy. Plenty of parking.

The entire staff at Cardinal Family Dentistry is caring and highly competent. They use modern methods that my previous dentist did not. Also, I appreciate that they bill your insurer directly (without leaving that responsibility to you). I would especially like to thank Tina and Dr. Barker... they ensure that you are as comfortable as possible during restorative work and that the work they do is of the highest quality. Great atmosphere with excellent service!!! Dr. Barker, Ms.Tina, Mrs.Jackie & the entire staff is great and collectively the professionalism and work they provide is amazing. They’re always ready to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Dr. Sarah and Ms.Tina took such great care of my little one! Her crown fell out during lunch from a previous dentist and my husband called to find someone that could take her since we have no been able to establish a new dental facility yet. They were able to squeeze her in and they treated us as though we had been going there for years. My daughter was scared and nervous that it would hurt and both reassured her that she was in good hands! She got to pick a special toy from the treasure chest and also got a tooth fairy doll that she is so excited about! My family will now be going there full time

I love this place! The professionalism and friendliness of the entire team is outstanding; however, I would like to give a special shout out to Tina. She is the best! I cannot say enough good things about Cardinal Family Dentistry! Everyone in the office is super nice and fun to talk to! I feel like every other dentist went a little rough on the cleaning and Cardinal does not! It doesn't hurt at all, no discomfort, and the paste isn't an unbearable taste. I also really appreciated that they have the option for you to watch TV while they're doing your cleaning or whatever - such a nice touch!! I also appreciate that they have later evening appointments available. I wont be going anywhere else!!
