L & L Transmissions, Inc got its start in 1978 when Leon Selapack and his wife Lee Ann moved to the Batavia area. The business commenced operations on the corner of Ellicott & Liberty streets in a rented one-bay garage. Leon credits Batavia's southside neighborhood putting their faith in him by patronizing his fledgling endeavor.
Thanks to urban renewal, L&L relocated to Pearl Street, where Leon and his dad built a new garage. The business continued to grow, and subsequently moved to Hutchins Street, then finally to 8781 Alexander Road. With the move to Alexander Road, Leon added complete auto and truck repair. Today, L & L Transmissions, Inc operates 14 car and truck lifts.
