Visit us soon to see why The Philadelphia Inquirer spotlighted The Tun Tavern Brewery at the top of its "Best Breweries at the Jersey Shore" list! This dark, but drinkable stout is a great winter beer, brewed heavily with chocolate malt, dark caramel malt, and roasted barley. Very malt forward with low hop flavor and bitterness, with roasted flavors of oatmeal, coffee, chocolate and caramel.
This copper-colored German-style lager has a rich, biscuity malt character, with light caramel notes. Despite its fuller body, a subtle, floral hop character rounds it out to make it an incredibly drinkable fall treat. Today's Tun Tavern continues to hold prestige as the first brew pub in Atlantic City, NJ offering award-winning casual gourmet cuisine and handcrafted brews, as well as live entertainment and special events.

In 1683, when Samuel Carpenter built a simple brewhouse atop an underground spring, he knew he had chosen a location with the finest water in the city of Philadelphia. The quality of his hand-crafted beers was unsurpassed, and Tun Tavern was soon on it's way to becoming one of the most popular meeting places in the city.
The Tun Tavern (the "Tavern") was a brew house built by Samuel Carpenter in 1685. It was located on Philadelphia's historic waterfront at the corner of Water Street and Tun Alley leading to Carpenter's Wharf near what is today known as "Penn's Landing.". Historically, it is regarded as the "First Brew House" built in Philadelphia in 1685, and among the very first in the country.
The Tun Tavern is attached to the new Atlantic City Convention Center and Sheraton Hotel. It is located only five blocks from the Atlantic City Boardwalk. Tun Tavern is conveniently located across the street from the Atlantic City Rail Terminal which runs parallel to the Atlantic City Expressway. Check out all the beers currently on tap at the Tun and join us in Atlantic City to enjoy the Tun atmosphere at the bar or on the deck.

My experience here was phenomenal. My server was Sophia, she was very sweet, fast and attentive. She gave me her recommendations for food. I got the nachos and the chocolate peanut butter cake it was to die for. I will be returning for sure. If i could give 100 stars I would. Such a friendly environment.

The food here was good I really did enjoy the flatbread. The scallops were also fine very well. We had an attentive waitress who did a great job checking in with us throughout our time there. They only had one dessert option which was cheese cake. But other than that we had a good time. The beers were limited to only 5 I did end up getting a flight which I did enjoy but the beers weren’t to my liking… that’s personal tho. The selection of food was good with large food menu. The only thing is that they were out of a few things on the menu which is a little disappointing. They are reasonably

The food is decent, tastes about the same as similarly priced chain restaurants nearby. The service was slow and awful. We came for lunch and it took awhile to get our food. Our server never came around to refill waters and it took forever to get the check. It’s convenient if you are staying in the hotel, but it would not be my first choice for dining.

I understand they just recently reopened which surprises me with how bad the service was. There were 3 people working the front of the restaurant and they spent most of their time sitting in a booth together eating and laughing, meanwhile I couldn't even get a refill of water till the end of my meal. The food is the only reason they got 3 stars and not 2. The wings were were my favorite, the blue crab fries were pretty good and the portion size was nice and big. I could of done without the chicken nachos. I'll go back for the convenience of being close to my hotel and that's about all.
