Tierramesa Veterinary Clinic was established in 1980 by Dr Shatila and we have been serving the Tierrasanta, Kearney Mesa and San Diego Communities for over 35 years. With the addition of Dr Berk in 2014, we have broadened our services, added new perspectives to proven traditional techniques. We believe you and your pets deserve to be treated like family members.

Services
Surgical Services: We provide routine surgical services like spay and neuter services as well as soft tissue and orthopedic procedures such as luxating patellas, cruciate repair, hip dysplasia and fracture repairs. Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients.
Vaccinations help prepare the body's immune system to fight the infection of disease-causing organisms. Most vaccines contain antigens, which look like the disease-causing organism to the immune system but don't actually cause disease. When the vaccine is introduced to the body, the immune system is mildly stimulated and the individual is now prepared to recognize and fight off the organism entirely or reduce the severity of the illness.
One of the best things you can do for your pet is to help him or her maintain good dental hygiene. About 80% of all pets over 3 years of age have some form of dental disease. Often the only way to find out is during your annual pet wellness exam. During the examination, we will discuss your pet's dental condition and make recommendations for keeping your pet's teeth and gums healthy.
At Tierramesa Veterinary Services, we perform a wide variety of surgeries including routine spay and neuters as well as more complicated orthopedic and soft tissue procedures for very competitive prices. First we evaluate the needs of your pet, then make an anesthetic risk assessment and discuss your options.
You can shop for flea and tick preventatives as well as request medication refills and shop for OTC products. We will try to keep our pharmacy as up to date as possible as well as competitively priced since we do not physically need to keep these products on our shelves. Just register your pet and follow the instructions, after your request is approved by one of our doctors, your medication will be mailed to you right away.

Our regular vet wasn't able to get our min pin in for an emergency situation. I remembered hearing amazing things about Tierramesa Vet clinic. I called them and they actually connected me with a dr. They said to bring him in and they will see him. When my husband arrived with our dog they took him in right away. It was realized shortly after that he needed emergency care. When my husband asked about payment, they said not to worry about it. We endured an extremely long and stressful night with our baby at the emergency clinic, he ended up not making it. Best vet I’ve ever been to. Dr. Berk and Dr. Shatila are both excellent and my pup has never been more happy to go to the vet. They always speak clearly about what they believe is going on, help you evaluate the most cost effective options, and treat everyone (and every animal) with respect and dignity. We are treated like family when we come here and everyone knows our pup. The staff is always welcoming and comforting and I cannot speak highly enough of them. Truly, I recommend anyone who has a pet in San Diego to use Tierramesa Vet Clinic if you’re searching for excellent care.
