At Fairwood Animal Hospital, we offer a wide range of services including medical, diagnostic, surgical, and preventive health care needs for your pet so they live a longer, healthier, happier life. One of the best things you can do for your pet is to keep him or her healthy. And one of the easiest and least expensive ways to do that is by bringing in your pet for regular exams and vaccinations.
For emergencies, please call (509) 467-0566. After normal business hours a message will give you the phone number of one of our doctors. This doctor is usually available to answer urgent questions that arise during emergency situations. If you are unable to reach one of our doctors you should contact the Pet Emergency Clinic at (509) 326-6670.
When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly, and we will usher you into an examination room as soon as we have one available. Water and coffee is available in our reception area and you may browse our retail area while you wait. Our goal is to see all of our clients and patients on time, and although we have contingencies for emergencies, there will be times where the unexpected will create delays.
Whether you are a first time visitor or a long-time friend, you can trust us to provide your pet with thorough, gentle medical care in a manner that is convenient for you. Located in North Spokane, our full service clinic offers laser surgery, comprehensive medical, dental, and surgical services, canine reproductive services, in house lab testing, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, and x-ray services.
Making sure our patients remain safe during surgery and other medical procedures is extremely important to us. Our team of veterinarians and veterinary technicians is skilled in using anesthesia and monitoring patients to ensure their safety and provide the most. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS HERE! They turned away my dog that was sick on a Saturday morning and possibly has to be euthanized because they said they didn’t have any available spots. If you can’t take your sick dog to be evaluated to be possibly euthanized to their own doctor and instead are told to go to an emergency clinic or wait until Monday, these veterinarians DO NOT care about animals. Save yourself from being in my position and go find a clinic that truly cares about animals not their bottom line.

After visiting veterinarians all over Spokane, I feel so fortunate to have found Fairwood Animal Hospital. Starting with their exceptional care for two dogs with very needy and unique medical conditions, and continuing into their treatment of my brand new puppy, I couldn't ask for any improvement. Front desk staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and Dr. Hart is an absolute pro at putting you, and your pets, at ease.

We know our furbabies are in great hands when we take our kitties Toulouse, Mufasa & Twinkie to see them! They're extremely kind and friendly, always say hello when we come in and greet our cats too! Very thorough and understanding, if you have questions regarding your animal, they are quick to get the answer or have the Dr call you back! I will never take our cats anywhere else! Needed an emergency appointment, they got us in within two hours of calling. Everyone was very friendly. Vet and Tech were up front about the costs of each procedure, gave their recommendations, and were very careful with my cat. Less than two days and there has been a noticeable change with him, he is feeling much better.

Last summer we had our cats boarded and had no concerns. This summer, I am extremely unhappy. When I picked them up, the staff was friendly. When I let the cats out of their crates when I got home, one of them had cat litter matted into his fur near his back side and tail. When I called asking what happened, they reported he had tipped over the litter box and his water. I can understand how he would get dirty if he did that. However, they said they didn't notice his fur when they put him in the crate. It was VERY obvious, I'm not sure how they could have missed it. They told me if I brought him

I will never go any place again. Best vets. I brought my pregnant mama in here and they have taken excellent care of her, her pups, and I'm sure the next litter will be well taken care of too. The whole office seemed to say hi to the babies at one point. And if you have a brachycephalic breed, this is the place to go. No doubt. They know their squishy face babes. Anyways. This is by far the best vet office we have been to throughout the years we have used a lot of different vets they always make sure they can fit us in we have six dogs and one of them got sick today and I called them at 3:30 and asked if they had any open appointments they said no and I told him what was going on with the dog and they made an exception and let us come in they stayed after hours to get the treatment my dog needed I have never experienced a vet office who actually truly 100% cares about the animals and I can say that I feel like this vet office definitely cares about their patients

I'm going to start this review by stating that we have been going here for vet care for 14 years. In the past we have had no issue with the care of our animals. We took my dog into fairwood for a checkup and they said she needed a FEW teeth pulled, so we agreed to schedule an appointment to do so. Once we got to the appointment, they informed us that when they said a "few" teeth they meant 14. Given we had already paid them, and trusted their judgment, we went ahead with the procedure. Once she was home is when it started getting bad. She didn't eat the "special" soft

I've been using this vet for 2 years. I recently started taking my new puppy there. The first visit was suppose to be a well check. I brought the puppies shot records with me. They did not even look at them because they gave her a parvo shot that she had just had 10 days prior. Then I get a statement from them that was not even addressed to me. When I tried to get them to fix it, they said they would have to get permission from the person who's account they erroneously put me under. I can't stand incompetence and stupidity! If they can't get this one little thing right I surely

Love this place! Only place that I will take my dog. The staff is so friendly and during this hard time with the virus they are doing everything to keep customers and the staff safe and it's still working seamlessly. They've always told me my options when creating treatment plans and are up front about cost. My dog is always well taken care of here and they do a great job at being sure you get in for those annual shots and check ups.

Always said they had to sedate my dog for a simple procedure. Didn't think anything of it until we went to a new vet and the new vet doesn't need my dog to be sedated. The last time I took my dog in they charged an additional $100 for blood work when she had just gotten it done 3 months prior. I was not made aware of this just stuck with a $450 bill I had to charge to credit. I don't like this. They should tell you cost up front.

This is the only place I like to take my dogs. The staff is patient, nice, thoughtful and they really do their best to take care of your animal.
They go above and beyond to make sure you are educated in their diagnosis and what the next steps to helping an issue or just making sure you know the health of your animal after a routine check-in.
My Veterinarian is Kayte Anderson and she is GREAT! I wouldn't let anyone else work in my dogs and she has helped with some tough situations.
If you are looking for a new vet or just moved here I would highly recommend taking your animals here.
