Family is family, whether it has two legs or four. At Lakeland Animal Clinic, we've spent the last 40 years healing and caring for your pets. As a family-operated practice, we know that family is about more than simply being related. Animals give us the ability to develop strong bonds and feel great compassion for a fellow living creature.
Helping your pet stay healthy and providing valuable education for you is how we respect the human-animal bond. We're honored to be trusted with your pet's care and we hope to see them spend as many healthy, happy years with you as possible. For the unconditional love our pets show us, they deserve the very best medical care available.

Services
Our team makes up for its small size with large quantities of skill, work ethic, and heart. Being trusted with your pet's care is the highest privilege we can think of and we couldn't see ourselves doing anything else. If you're new to the area or just new to our practice, we invite you to peruse our bios and get to know us a little better before your first visit!
Pets are living longer than ever due to a greater emphasis on wellness and preventive care. We recognize that your pet has a special place in your family and in your heart. Their health and happiness is important to you and that makes it important to us, too. By offering comprehensive pet wellness plans that account for your pet's most essential needs, we're helping to add more years to their life.
While pets may come in various shapes and sizes, they all need protection from the diseases that dwell in their environment. Rabies and distemper are some of the most dangerous diseases our pets can face. Lyme disease, a tick-borne virus, and leptospirosis, a bacterial disease, may also be risks for your pet.
At Lakeland Animal Clinic our goal is to reduce the prevalence of dental disease in our patients and help them enjoy a better quality of life. Dental disease can be very painful for pets and lead to tooth loss and infection of the heart, liver, and kidneys. Therefore, we recommend a cat and dog teeth cleaning plan for every pet that comes into our care.
Cat and dog surgeries are almost as commonplace as human surgeries, and we are just as concerned and careful about keeping our patients safe. At Lakeland Animal Clinic, we have state-of-the-art equipment and protocols in place to make surgery as comfortable as possible for your pet. While risks are an inherent part of every surgical procedure, you can be assured that we have the ability to significantly reduce those risks.

I took my dog there and they told me she was old and nothing could be done about her issues. I took her to another vet who immediately found the problem and successfully treated her. My daughter took her cat there and they performed several tests costing several hundred dollars, had her bring him back a couple of days later because he was too upset for them to take an x-ray of him, charged her again and couldn’t find what was wrong with him. That evening she had to take him to the emergency vet where they quickly found the problem. Their inability to diagnose his illness (which we were told is

My friend brought her cat here, he was so sick and really needed help, but they refused. The cat was there just 9 weeks ago for the same problem, and they were aware of the situation. Before they would even look at the cat, they said she had to pay 600$!! So they told them to go to another vet since they didn't have 600 freaking dollars to just hand them, and unfortunately their baby went over the rainbow bridge. I'm appalled. To not even offer any help what so ever when they bring you their baby who is dying is speechless. Shame on you. You are no "hero".

They were amazing from the office staff to Dr. Pratt. They listened to my concerns, came up with a evaluation/treatment plan, and gave me estimates on the cost before I agreed to anything. My cat still isn't a fan of the vet but I think they'll grow on him.
On top of that I found out they also see birds so now my cockatiels have an appointment as well. Will update review once I see how well they do with "exotics"!

We are very pleased with Lakeland Animal Clinic! Dr. Pratt and her staff are animal lovers and top-notch medical providers! It is not easy to find good vets for exotics, and we have been through several. Our menagerie of rats and guinea pigs have been well taken care of here!

I changed vets for my 15 year old dog, Memphis, when I moved to Lakeland. Our move was made more difficult because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Although, I have never met Dr. Kyle, she has been very communicative and professional. My dog has degenerative arthritis and she has been working with us to effectively manage his pain and improve his quality of life. She listens to my concerns and addresses them. Memphis is not anxious about going to the vet. The staff shares the same level of professionalism and kindness.

Great experience getting a health certificate for my dog Dallas to fly back home with us. Megan was our technician and she was great! Dr Pratt was very professional and friendly as well. They are doing curbside service due to covid but it ran very smooth! Affordable pricing as well. As we say in Hawaii, Mahalo nui loa (thank you so very much)!

We love Dr Lockhart. Our dogs love him. Everyone there is so nice to us & our furry kiddos. We are so glad the doc is back from winter haven (we actually traveled almost an hr to see him out there). Dr. Lockhart is very respectful & truly loves the animals he cares for. Doc has been our vet for almost 10 years, in good times and bad. He saw us through the deaths of some beloved dogs (& my daughter with her cat) cause we met him when we had older pets. He took loving care of them, for as long as we asked. Gave us all the options, & left the final decisions up to us, only giving his
