The food at Farmer's Table is based on a few simple ideas. Use fresh ingredients from reliable and responsible sources, grow or raise them whenever possible, and prepare them using time-tested techniques, all the while striving for perfection in the execution of these techniques. Our food is made to order.
All of it. There is no steam table or microwave in the kitchen. We avoid over-refined foods, unnecessary additives, and excessive packaging that is often part and parcel of the foods that are abundant in our stores. We are associated with no cause but the cause of good food and being good stewards of nature is the single best way to assure we will always have wonderful food to astound our senses.

Food was pretty good, but service is lacking. They got our entree order wrong and tried to tell us it wasn't wrong. We ordered pappardelle cream pesto with lump crab. Instead, we got a penne red sauce with meat and no crab in sight (it was obviously only ground red meat too). We were told that it was a "penne pappardelle" with crab meat sauce. Wish I took a picture before and after, completely different entrees with different sauces. They corrected it, but it wasn't until we asked at least twice. Also, there was no penne dish on the menu. The only pasta dish was the pappardelle. So where did this

How this place has 4.4 on here I truly will never understand. Thé food is not worth the bad service. The waitress was very dismissive of our table. The vegetables had no seasoning, neither did my friend’s shrimp dish. The table behind me got 3 of 4 entrees and they just left the woman waiting for her entree almost the entire meal and they were not even apologetic! The thing they were the quickest with was the check. I was really excited to go here, but definitely won’t be back. There are other overpriced restaurants in New Canaan that know how to use salt and pepper and treat customers.

This restaurant is wonderful for so many reasons! My partner and I have had dinner here a couple of times and have never been disappointed. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed by their staff. The appetizers are delicious, their vegetables are always fresh, and they have the most incredible key lime pie I’ve ever eaten. We were fortunate to have Corey as our waiter each time we’ve come for dinner, and he is such a lovely person. He’s attentive, polite, and really takes his time to ensure you have a quality dining experience. We even got to chat with him about his hometown in Louisiana

Fantastic! I went here with 3 girlfriends for dinner and it was delicious! I forgot to get a picture of the cheese plate we got for an app, but it was stellar! The meals were 👌 and the desserts were a perfect finish! Key lime pie is the best I've ever had and the flan was probably the best I've had as well! I didn't catch our waiters name, but he was great and he waited on our table on Tues, May 4th. Thank you!

Delicious! Delicious! Inventive menu, fresh and seasonal offerings. Service and atmosphere is very relaxed and friendly.
We keep going back and this place just keeps getting better and better. DELICIOUS is still the best word I can think of to describe. I recently had a pasta with seasonal mushroom sauce that was awesome. Try the cheese plate as a shared appetizer or desert, if you like cheese you won't be disappointed.

We went to the Farmer's Table with friends and my biggest challenge was deciding what to eat with so many tasty options. When our meal arrived everyone was more than happy with their food, done to perfection. The only issue was, once the small restaurant filled up the sound level was excruciating. It was barely possible to carry on a conversation and as a result everyone in the place tried shouting to be heard.
In sum, great food, but not a place to go if you want to have a conversation. A problem they could easily solve with some acoustic treatment.

Excellent. I give them 5 stars! The freshest tasty food. Cucumber salad with the crisp snap of fresh cucumbers right from the owner/chef’s own garden. The chicken was delicious and the home made fresh… key-lime pie was the best key-lime pie I’ve ever had, with a perfect balance of tart and sweet; a creamy pie with a delicate graham-cracker crust that holds together... so good that I bought a second piece to take home. Attentive staff and excellent service; a lovely outdoor eating area under a canopy on a charming New Canaan side street. I had a wonderful time and highly recommend

I recently had occasion to dine at the Farmer's Table restaurant in New Canaan, CT, on a cold December evening. I was warmly greeted by the proprietress, and was seated at a corner window table with a great view of the casual activity of passersby on Forest Street. Our server recommended a cheese plate which arrived with an assortment of cheeses, a… dish of honey, and a generous helping of fresh baked crusty bread. It went very well with the chilled Prosecco I ordered, and a great prelude to the main entree, which was the grilled salmon. Wow, great meal, great atmosphere and service ...

Very rude people. We wanted to make a reservation and called around 11am and no one answered. I googled farmers table New CANAAN open table thought I made a reservation online. Showed up on time and was treated horribly. The hostess was rude and told me we probably made a reservation at farmers table in Florida. Meanwhile half the restaurant… was empty. She wouldn’t even look us in the eye as she ignored our party of three. We left and went to gates which was great. Walking by at 8:30 after our gates dinner two hours later and the restaurant was still half empty. Turns out they don

When the weather is perfect, outside seating is a must. They don't take reservation for outside seating though, it's first comes first served. We got lucky and landed a table for 6PM dinner on a Friday. The place is quaint, situated next to a small street..perfect for people and cars watching.
Food selections on the menu isn't large, but everything sounds delicious. I started with a cup of roasted corn soup and ended up with their special; scallops with mojo sauce served with wild rice pilaf and a side of perfectly cooked string beans and carrots. My companion ordered steak

We strolled by and stopped to try Farmer's Table earlier this week. The food was outstanding, the service terrific without being smothering. Because it was such a nice evening we sat outside and enjoyed people watching as couples, families and oldsters trekked up and down the street. Our meals, both specials, were sea bass and a soba noodle and shrimp dish which were deliciously sauced/seasoned. We'll be back with friends soon! Thank you for a lovely evening.
