Trauma occurs every day. Very few of us make it through life without being affected by a situation or event that causes us to question our safety and general wellbeing. The good news is that it is possible for you to heal from your trauma through trauma therapy and enjoy life rather than endure it.

So many couples struggle to connect and communicate effectively. Through couples counseling, you can begin to understand and process your triggers. Real healing and growth can occur both for you and your partner as individuals and for your relationship. If you're struggling to accept and process a significant life transition, you are not alone.

I have always been a curious person and longed for a deeper understanding of the human condition. When I was young, I took this passion into the theater by embodying different characters. Always wondering what brought a person joy or sadness, I continued my studies by traveling and studying different cultures.
I invite you to contact me for a free initial phone consultation to get to know me, discuss your concerns, ask any questions you have about counseling or my practice and gain a sense of how we could best work together. Do you wake up each morning flooded with feelings of worry, stress or fear that you cannot shake throughout the day? Do you often feel on edge, fixated on everything that could go wrong? Perhaps your anxiety is manifesting physically through constriction in the body, an accelerated heart rate, heightened blood pressure, insomnia or shallow breathing.
Do you struggle in intimate relationships? Do you have a deep longing to connect with a partner, but also fear getting too close? Perhaps you don't feel like you're ever good enough, always trying to please those around you and second-guessing yourself. Or maybe you always expect the worst to happen and engage in a lot of negative self-talk.
Are you and your partner engaging in a series of ongoing cycles of conflict, unable to come to any sustainable or meaningful compromise or resolution? Do you often feel lonely, unheard or undervalued in your relationship? Perhaps attempts to express needs or connect meaningfully end up in arguments with you both feeling triggered and angry.

I came to Shanly angry, hurt, full of ptsd, abandoned by my best friends and clinicians when most in need, and in the midst of a deeply traumatizing family court case.
For years I had sought relief from debilitating ptsd and no therapists were able to help me escape that place for very long or to find relief from my deeply painful relationship patterns.
Since seeing her I have learned how to stop ruminating, I have almost no ptsd symptoms, and have ended my painful relationship pattern. She was also a great support for seeking medication and even when I couldn’t see her because of finances

Shanly's work is transformational. Her Feeding Your Demons practice was especially unique and powerful for me. After years of talk therapy with other practitioners, my first Feeding Your Demons session with Shanly brought me to a new level of self-awareness, with a new perspective on my patterns and compassion for myself. I recommend Shanly's work to anyone struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, transition, or who simply would like to get to know themselves in a more complete and gentle way.

Shanly is an amazing clinician because she is as kind, compassionate, and gentle as she is skilled. I have worked with several therapists around my own history of and relationship to trauma, and Shanly was one of the most effective by helping me heal and integrate trauma by inviting my body (not just my mind/story) into our work together. Thank you Shanly.
