Dr. Jim Lu, DDS graduated from Emory University in 2009 with a BA in Biology. He completed dental school at the University of Maryland-Baltimore School of Dentistry in 2015 with a Degree in Dental Surgery. While in dental school, he completed a 1 year Oral Surgery Clerkship and participated in numerous community outreach and volunteer events to provide dental care, education and oral cancer screening for underserved communities in Maryland.

The adjacent teeth may start to drift or tilt into the space, and teeth in the opposing jaw may start to shift toward the area of the missing tooth.

I called to get a cost range for having a chip in my front tooth fixed and was given a range. When I went to my appointment I got a quote for over $100 more than the highest quote, so I told them no I didn't want to do it so the office staff comes in and tells me not to worry about it, it will only cost the highest amount of the verbal quote, so I agreed and had the tooth fixed. I could tell the dentist was irritated that I didn't want to pay the extra money, but he fixed the chip. I noticed on my bank statement they went in and took the extra money out of my account anyway this morning

Recently I was diagnosed by an emergency room doctor with sepsis due to an infected tooth. I was told I needed it extracted ASAP or the infection could spread. The next morning I called Burlington Dental and went in for an emergency extraction. Was seen by Dr. Shane Lu and a really awesome dental hygienist. Within minutes I went from filling out paperwork, x-ray, numbing, and then immediate extraction. I don't think you can get an oil change this fast! I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. Worse experience I ever had at a dentist. Very rough and uncomfortable. He handled my mouth like I was a Manikin with no feelings. First time in my life I have ever experience so much pain after a filling. I even had scaring in my mouth from instruments used. Watch them closely they touch everything with the same gloves they put in your mouth. I has to ask the assistant to change her gloves. The dentist did not communicate what was happening or about to happen. When I did ask I got a very vague answer.not personable at all. Worse experience at a dental off I have ever experienced.

Awful and unprofessional! The staff never answers the phone or returns voicemail, called 3 days straight trying to reschedule with no answer then they want to punish me for rescheduling without a 48 hour notice!
Wow and now the "owner" is replying to my post lying saying that their texts and emails were ignored! They don't even have my email address and their text say, "Text C for confirm or call for conflict" which I did 3 days before this appointment with no answer or returned calls! This place is the definition of unprofessional. Don't waste your time with these people.

This place is a NO STAR. The guy gave me a root canal and didn't bother to tell me which tooth he done it on and didn't prescribe me any antibiotics after the root canal. I had to take a trip to the ER because of them. My gums swollen, can't eat, can't drink, my pain is a whole 10. Now thankfully I have another dentist to fix the problem. Honestly if I were you I wouldnt waste my time with this place they need to be shut down or something because this is rediculous. Then the person who answers the phone going to try and argue with me like excuse you but you can't be talking to your customers like

I had a toothache so I was able to schedule an appointment with this office in the same day. My traditional dentist still has yet to return my voicemail I left 2 days ago. I went in expecting my tooth to be decayed beyond repair and possibly needing a root canal. I was relieved to find out that my teeth were fine and it was a simple issue with my gums. Many other dentists would've tried to sell me an expensive treatment that was unnecessary. This office has gained my trust.

I had a very disappointing experience here. The hygienist had pretty bad bedside manner and came off as very cold. Didn't introduce herself, or say much of anything at all besides barking orders during the procedure. She was also pretty rough with everything she did, pinched my lip and gums a few times. The dentist seemed fine when I had my first cleaning, didn't say much (but sometimes that's preferred when they're working on your mouth). However when I came back for a filling, he also hardly said anything to me. I think maybe he said hello on the way in, and let me know when the shot was coming
