My hubby has done light auto repair for 40 years but when we moved to Utah we needed to search out a new mechanic who could do the most challenging work on our cars and diesel truck. As we asked parts suppliers, auto body shops, diesel truck owners, one name kept coming up, S&L. Why? First mentioned was integrity! Wow, who ever says that about auto mechanics! To the man at S and L Automotive in Springville, Utah- we never got your name unfortunately but thank you for bending over backwards for us to do everything you could to get us back on the road and in a safe hotel. We’re from Wisconsin and when our radiator hose blew on the interstate, This man talked to us in the store the whole time and kept our minds off of it until the car got there. Then he drove us himself to the hotel with ALL of our stuff since we couldn’t find a lyft. And then after the shop closed he fixed the car himself and then drove it TO THE HOTEL to us!! He gave us full reassurance

2006 Duramax went into limp mode and shut down.

I'm not a mechanic and I have only worked on my own vehicles. I had a engine failure in Payson Canyon. I tried all the tricks that I could and couldn't restart my truck.
This is the first Duramax I have owned and I searched the internet and advice forums. Nothing worked . I called the dealer that I bought the truck from and he suggested S & L Automotive : " James knows more about diesels than anyone " he said.
I had AAA haul it a d and James had it diagnosed 15 minutes after it arrived. He ordered the necessary parts and

Quite possibly the best mechanic in the state. James is the most knowledgeable and honest mechanic I’ve ever met. He has an ability to figure out issues with cars and trucks that I’ve never seen before. He has serviced and tuned many of my own and my family’s vehicles and honestly I’m grateful to know him. I know that if I’m having an issue that if I bring it to him that it’ll be taken care of at a fair price. Best place to go on the state. Look no further.
