I was there a few years ago before the pandemic and decided to take my daughter and her boyfriend (who is a sushi connoisseur) for dinner when they visited. Everything was excellent! We all agreed that the food was really good, fresh and tasty. Last week we did takeout with friends, and again we were not disappointed. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but give it a try!

I made an online order for a Spicy Maki Combo and it was ready within 6 minutes of me placing the order. That was impressive.
One more thing to note is that their Spicy Maki Combo does not come with a California Roll. This is always a plus for me because a lot of places tend to just put a California Roll with spicy mayo on top in their Spicy Maki Combo and call it a day. I mean if you like California Rolls then that's a good thing but I'm here for the fish.
I ordered a normal Maki Combo one time and it did come with a spicy roll which I found interesting. Everywhere is different! Nice

Stopped there yesterday for take out. The place was pleasantly surprising. The service was prompt & again, pleasant. However, the sushi I ordered was tasteless. I ordered a spicy salmon roll & a sweet potato roll... & to be perfectly honest, I couldn't distinguish the taste of either one. I actually ate 2 of each before I believed that I figured out which was which. The prices were definitely below average: you get what you pay for. Live & learn.

Pretty decent, but I was a little disappointed with the size of the rolls. They were too big! I know, not the worst thing in the world, but I felt that the balance was off. Their prices are already very fair so I think they could get away with using less meat or veggies in the rolls so the bite size is less intense. Between the standard rolls and the special rolls, I would definitely go for the special rolls! They are absolutely gigantic, flavorful, and a great value. As a Cromwell native, we order from Kuyi Sushi whenever we have a sushi urge and have never been disappointed. (I'm pregnant, which is disappointing because Sashimi is always my go to!) But the menu makes it very easy to pick my sushi choice because they have separate lists for cooked/uncooked. You can easily order and pay online - contactless pick up and the foods always been ready. We ordered today on Valentines Day and they gave us a little bag of chocolate goodies which was a 'sweet' added touch.

I go to Kuyi Sushi embarrassingly often. I've done takeout every time and I love that they have completely contact free takeout (they leave the food on a table). The sushi is great-- I've tried many different rolls (standard and special rolls) and enjoyed them all! Their fried rice is great too, and very cheap! If you order more than $35+ you can get a ramune soda or edamame!

Love this place... always been good .I cant really complain about anything honestly. They were very attentative the sushi was very greasy and yummy and the rolls were a decent price. We also order often delicious bento box there . Drinks was great . So quick and efficent i really appreciate the service. This stuff always comes and talk to you . The restaurant is renovated. I like the waterfall wall at front . I do recommend this place !!!

My favorite go to place for sushi as of late from this area. I've enjoyed everything I've tried here. By comparison to other places, I now prefer Kuyi Sushi over Moonlight and Japanica ll in Middletown.
The seaweed salad is good. No filler, which I like. I do not want to pay for a bed of ice berg lettuce so the restaurant can cut costs on an expensive salad. I will say, the consistency isn't quite on target. Sometimes the flavor is a bit different from one order to the next. But, the seaweed salad is a solid choice and you get a good serving for the price you're paying.

This is my go to sushi place, and guess what.. they deliver too! Everything on their menu is delish, I love the special rolls. I try a new on as often as I can.
The inside is ADORABLE! It's so nice! It's a great place to bring friends and grab drinks and of course sushi! This place on the outside you might question, it's in a large plaza behind KFC. But I am telling you go inside!!!!! Everyone that works there is so pleasant. The bathrooms are clean and the drinks are good!

This is my new favorite! On our way home from hanging poolside, my wife ordered up a few different choice menu items for take out. We started with the Caterpillar roll which looked so good we didn't even wait to get home! We just destroyed it with the help of our 12 yr old, who liked it despite being somewhat allergic to Avocados! The Sushi Deluxe was amazing along with the miso soup and several a la cart rolls! Everything we had was delicious! The price was very reasonable considering the high quality meal we had! I can't wait to go back and try many more items! I would definitely recommend

We took our food to go and it wasn't a bad experience. For 18.95 I got a Terri chicken bento box. It came with miso soup, white rice, a good size order of shrimp tempura and veggies, shrimp shumai, 6 piece Cali roll and a huge helping of chicken. I had a hard time finishing it and had to take it in strides, there was a lot of food.
I really enjoyed the white rice it was moist and sticky and wonderful

Never disappoints! I'm a sushi snob and Kuyi delivers great sushi! I usually get edamame, dumplings, spicy salmon, spicy tuna, tuna avocado, salmon avocado, rainbow roll, eel and cucumber and lots more. They do a nice job. Also, their meals are good, including their soups which my daughter likes!
They used to charge $1. For the spicy mayo when you take out but they haven't been lately. Thank goodness because that was a point of frustration.

I've only been to Kuyi for lunch, and even on a minor holiday, we were seated immediately. Their lunch specials, served Monday-Saturday 10:30am-3:00pm, are some of the best deals in town. For example you can get 2 sushi rolls for $8.50 and 3 rolls for $10.50, miso soup or salad included. You can't go wrong with the Spicy Salmon Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll, Tuna Avocado Roll. They have Bento Box specials too. I've ordered the Shrimp Tempura ($9.50), comes with miso soup or salad, white rice, shumai and a California roll. From the main menu, I recommend the Dancing Yellowtail roll ($15.95

My wife and I tried kuyi last night. We had a 10 off 50 coupon that was about to expire and wanted to try some place different. The inside was nicely done, however it was a little warm, some celing fans would of been nice. The biggest downside of the meal was the waitress. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or what, but I dont think she should be working with the public. She was rude and almost yelled at me when I asked for some water.
As for the food and drinks, We got the scorpion bowl for 14 dollars a good deal, but it came with small straws so it was a pain to move it back and

This place is amazing. We ordered delivery online and were pleasantly surprised by our dinners. The presentation for Hibachi dinners and appetizers, even as a delivery, was pronominal. The meals were delicious, everything from the vegetables to the steak were cooked to perfection. All of this was also enjoyed with the high quality chopsticks provided with the meal. Seriously... That place was amazing and if my wallet and waistline could afford it, I would order from them every night.

Where to begin?! They have only been open for a year and service is impeccable- friendly, fast. Sushi always tastes great, good size and beautifully presented. The place is quite glamorous inside - with leather seats and light water fountain, but the atmosphere is casual and relaxing. Absolutely recommend for a great dinner experience! They are located in the Cromwell Shopping Plaza across the road from Stop & Shop.

This is my new go to sushi takeout spot. Every other place in the area has disappointed me for one reason or another. I always get the same thing at a new sushi place, a relatively safe order of spicy tuna roll and shrimp tempura roll. Bonus when a place has hibachi/fried noodles, which Kuyi does! (You can't be a 5 in my eyes without the noodles)
