Button Veterinary Hospital
Button Veterinary Hospital in Tacoma, Wa. is a full service companion animal hospital. It is our commitment to provide quality veterinary care throughout the life of your pet. Our experienced veterinarians and professional staff are here to assist you with routine preventive care for young, healthy pets; early detection and treatment of disease as your pet ages; and complete medical, surgical and dental care during his or her entire lifetime.

We understand the special role your pet plays in your family and are dedicated to becoming your partner in your pet's health care. We treat your pet as we would our own. Our goal is to practice the highest quality medicine and surgery with compassion and an emphasis on client education.
Services
Button Veterinary Hospital is a well-established, full-service, small animal veterinary hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical and dental care. We have treated pets for 4 and 5 generations of families in South Puget Sound.

While our overall approach is holistic in nature (treating the entire patient as opposed to just a specific problem), we also have a veterinarian trained and certified to provide alternative treatments such as acupuncture. These alternative treatments can be used alone or in combination with conventional medications or procedures.
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination. Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.
Our goal has been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional client service and full service veterinary health care. We offer a wide range of services, including diagnostics, surgery, dentistry and have a variety of prescription and over the counter products for your pet.
1. Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill. 2. We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) and cash. All cards must have proper authorization. 3. When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well.
Button Veterinary Hospital is aware of the vast amount of information available on the Internet. Our team has taken the time and evaluated the following sites. We trust the information the listed websites provide to you, our client, and member of our family.

American Veterinary Medical Association - This site is a good starting point to learn more about a variety of topics, including feline injection-site sarcomas and the latest subjects in veterinary medicine.American Association of Feline Practitioners - The AAFP is like the American Medical Association for cat doctors, and has lots of good information regarding feline health.

Lovely family style vet. My grandmother and father have use their services exclusively for 30years. We've just started with our teacup chihuahua and cat. They are so caring and loving. My Chihuahua needed teeth removed from severe periodontal disease. 18 teeth removed and great recovery. Full of information and great concern for animal welfare

Attentive. Compassionate. Responsive! I have been helping my sister and her husband get their cats there for care. Although I have only provided the transportation, I am so impressed with how this vet clinic treats pets as well as pet parents! Covid procedures are carried out with call when you arrive protocols, masks, social distance etc. Everything is on time. I saw a staff member consoling my sisters cat after surgery today through the waiting room window today. They all truly care!

Button Vet is the best! I've been to other vets in the area but none are as kind, attentive, and equipped to handle my dogs needs as Buttons team. Like anywhere it can be hard to get an appointment but if you can its worth the switch for sure! My dog has some special digestive needs and we struggled to find a solution until Button's vets came along and worked with us to find a solution to give my rescue dog a happy and healthy life in our home. Their precautions around COVID also make me feel safe as a pet parent accessing their services. I highly recommend you choose their practice next time you

We had a rabbit that Dr Jeremiah took care of. She is the most awesome bunny vet!! We just love her!! Our 6 month bunny did die during surgery, but that was no fault of hers. Dr Jeremiah and her staff were so kind & caring. I'd take my pets there any day! 💞

Do not attempt to buy a french bulldog from Noreen Jeremiah. She will string you along and if you do not want to "co-own" a puppy she will just stop responding to your email and messages leaving you to wonder what has been going on for over one year... don't waist your time.

I made an appointment for my Frenchie to be seen because he has something going on with his eyes. I was told they would call and confirm the appointment the day before. (I was driving at the time so I needed the appointment call from them) No one ever called. I called this morning to confirm that my appointment is today and they said it was last Friday. They didn't have my name but said they had my phone number and they left a message. My phone is set so no messages can be left. Disappointed to have to find another vet and wait longer for my baby to have his eyes checkout. I'll be finding

I have been going to Button Vet for more than 30 years. I now get a senior discount.

Vets work their entire career there. They take the best care of my pets.

My brother also goes to Button. And my friends too.

My family has been coming to Button for 4 generations. They’re always the clinic I suggest if asked. I can’t imagine trusting anyone else with the care of my pets. All of the doctors are fantastic and the rest of the staff are exceptional. It always feels welcoming and you feel how deeply they care about the animals and their people. They make us feel like we’re part of the family.

Unprofessional and rude! My cat was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor. They left a voicemail telling me this and also telling me that there was nothing that could be done. I tried to call back and get more information as my cat is only 9 years old and he is my baby, the Vet was extremely rude and sarcastic, making me feel bad for asking a couple of questions. Instead of answering my questions she started complaining about how busy she is with coronavirus, I entertained her complaints to be nice and in return she said "I don't have time to chat!". I said bye and she hung up on me.

I took my cat to Dr. Jeremiah for about 8 years and I thought she was great. I am not sure what has happened in the last year and a half or so, it seems it is completely all about money to her. I don't know if she is burnt out or what. This is the most expensive vet in town, as far as I have seen, and we should feel a little more compassion when we take our animals in. I love Barb at the front desk and this one star in NO way reflects on her. She is kind, efficient, and does her job fantastically. When a vet gets to the point that the animals are not the number one concern...it is time to

After nearly three years of good service from Dr. Jeremiah, one of our dogs had an issue requiring examination (by Dr. Claypool) and blood work and a follow-up report; however, we waited several days for the Vet report and finally called the office and was told that Dr C had called (she did not call or leave a vm); staff said Dr. C would be given our message; we called again for two additional days and Dr C did not call us; we got fed up this unprofessional lack of communication and went to another Vet facility; we will not return to Button and gave two review stars only in recognition of service

I called my dog's routine vet to make an urgent appointment and they were so booked out they referred me to Button. Not only were they able to see me the same day, but they were so dang kind and helpful. My dog has cost me thousands of dollars in veterinary bills over the last year and I am so relieved to have added a quality, competent vet to his list of care providers that doesn't sting my bank account. The staff is very personable and I truly felt like they cared for him.
Button specializes in Frenchie care so if you have a brachycephalic breed, definitely check these guys out.

I just want to start by saying my one-star review has nothing to do with the two ladies who practically run the place-Jenny & Barb. My review has to do with the complete lack of compassion exemplified toward my poor dog the day she died.

We had to rush home from our vacation on a Thursday-we were 5.5 hours away. I called shortly after they opened to get my poor senior doggie in to be euthanized. We had just had a lot of expensive tests done on her revealing a grocery list of health ailments and illnesses and they were quickly causing her health to decline. When i called sobbing on the phone

I am new to the area and got a lot of recommendations from local French Bulldog owners and a coworker to bring my Frenchie to Button Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Jeremiah and her staff were extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and welcoming! I really appreciated the time that the doctor spent with me talking about issues specific to the breed, and she made me feel very comfortable. I will be returning with my other 4 pets when they need veterinary care! I'm so relieved to have found a great clinic in the area.

For more years then I can count, we driven the 20 miles from Black Diamond to Tacoma for the best trusted care possible for our pets at Button Veterinary Hospital. We followed Dr. Jensen when she moved to Button from a local veterinary clinic. Because of her excellent caring and personal care we receive from Dr.Jensen and the staff at Button Veterinary Hospital, it's well worth the time and miles. If possible, we would give them TEN stars!

My daughter-in-law referred me to Button's Veterinary Hospital when our 9 1/2 year old Rat Terrier Mix suddenly became very ill, in which we had to euthanize him. The staff and Dr. Jensen were so compassionate. Dr. Jensen's explained the various medical issues Chance had in a manner in which I could understand. I got to hold Chance in my lap with his head resting on my arm till he took his last breath, in which I am very grateful to the staff at Button Veterinary Hospital.

I brought my dog, Tank, here because he was experiencing extreme pain. I was told by another vet that it was time to put him to sleep. Needless to say, I was devastated. I googled "Dog Acupuncture" and Dr. Button's Veterinary Hospital popped up. I made his 1st appointment on the 28th of October and he started his treatment that day. Dr. Jeremiah was very warm and welcoming and greeted my dog like he was an old friend. He received his 4th treatment today and has returned to the dog that I know and love. Kris, the tech, is super sweet and holds him while the doctor works her magic

My beloved puppy (7 yo ASD mix) was behaving strangely, and had been kind of "off" for a couple of weeks, but after a trip to the park, he couldn't get into the car, and was extremely lethargic. I decided that something was really wrong, and I needed to get him to the vet. I have been going to the same vet for 30 years, but over the last couple of years, I have just lost all confidence in him, and this was so mysterious that I just couldn't bring myself to go there. So I put a call out to friends asking for references. A couple of other clinics came up, but when I called

My 10 wk old puppy arrived with mange. The vet upped her med from .07 ml every third day to .1 ml everyday. Puppy had an adverse reaction to higher dose due to depressed immune system. I called the vet and it took 4 hrs for the vet to call me back just to tell me to bring puppy in. Then the vet gave charcoal and fluid bolus and sent us home stating she should be better in 24 hrs. She died that night. I went back next day to vet for a Cause of Death. Got the letter a week later. Plus they CHARGED me for these visits!!! I will be looking for new vet...

Ok, two weeks after my puppy died, my vet

We have used button for years, they lovingly helped us let go of our 17 year old border collie and have cared for all our pets. Recently we had a feral cat abandon 5 kittens for us to care for. Bottle feedings, ear infections and learning how to care for newborn kittens, Dr. Jenson and the team have been wonderful for us. Charging a measly 40 to check out the kittens they have been a true lifeline for us! Thank you for you love and compassion over the years for our 4 legged family members!

I calle dthis clinic for an estimate and they were wanting $50 for an initial exam and after hearing how much the estimate was I need not call them back.
Value Clinic in Puyallup is further but they seemed more sincere on the phone for my cat's situation. VCA offers free first exams but after that it's pretty pointless because they charge a minimum of $60 for simple testing and the total for the dental work was going to be $600 - $900 dollars. I called around and everyone seems to charge $50 for an exam. Value Pet Clinic in Puyallup is $31 for an exam. I am grateful for the phone courtesy

After moving to Tacoma from Seattle I wanted to quickly find a new vet close to home. I came to Yelp and saw the 5 star review and made an appointment for my two dogs. The front desk and the doc that examined my dogs were just "doing their jobs" and were not friendly or made me feel comfortable at all.

The worst was yet to come though. As I went to check-out I was handed a bill for nearly $300. I was never informed of any of these charges as we were going through the normal exam. For an example, they charged me for stool check yet neither of my dogs had given a sample - I was handed
