Services
We have been in the weld testing business since 1976. Our bend and tensile testers developed out of our need to find reliable welding test equipment at reasonable prices. In 1976 we started testing for companies in the local area around Dayton, Ohio. We now serve customers anywhere in the US.
All qualification testing is done under the supervision of a Welding Engineer, who is a graduate of the Ohio State University Department of Welding Engineering.Another OSU graduate Welding Engineer interacts with customers to prepare welding procedure and/or performance qualification guidelines to be followed if the customer needs assistance preparing test samples.

If you need to qualify your welders for all thicknesses and for ASME Section IX, then the Super Coupon will allow you to do so with just one coupon size. Bevels are 37 +/- 1° with a 1/16 land. A +/- 1/64 land tolerance is provided unless the wall thickness is already at or near the mill under-tolerance of -12%.
The Model BT1D is our newest bend tester. It uses a new generation design that replaces and improves upon our classic Model BT1B design. It is adjustable for the typical range of tests required by fabricators, manufacturers, contractors and schools. It is moderately portable. The Model BT1C is very portable but less versatile than the BT1D.
Our newest and largest tensile tester. It is intended for testing specimens that will require from 7000 to 100,000 pounds of tensile load to cause fracture. In general, specimens cut from arc-welded test plates are in this range. This model can grip specimens with end dimensions up to 1-1/2 by 2 inches.
The basic unit has a combined Air or Hand-operated pump. For most applications this is the best option. In the air-operated mode, the tests can be completed rapidly. In the hand-operated mode, the operator has absolute control of the operation. The test stops immediately if the operator stops pumping.
