Services
Madera Veterinary Hospital is locally owned and operated by Heather Redmon, DVM. We are located at 7681 S. Houghton Rd., which is just south of Valencia, very close to Vail and the Rita Ranch areas. We have been proudly serving our local community for over 20 years and look forward to providing high-quality veterinary services for another 20 years (or more)!
Routine care that emphasizes prevention is one of the most important aspects of caring for your pet. Bringing your companion in for wellness care ensures that small problems do not become more serious ones. Doing so also provides an opportunity for us to administer vaccinations, assess your companion's overall health, and provide other services to ensure your pet's long-term health and wellness.
Having your dog or cat spayed or neutered is one of the kindest and most responsible things you can do as a pet parent. In addition to ensuring that your pet will not contribute to the already overwhelming population of unwanted pets, these simple procedures prevent or drastically reduce the likelihood of many common health problems.
Dental care isn't just important for humans; it's crucial for pets, too! While it is often overlooked, routine dental care should be a part of your dog or cat's routine health and wellness plan. A number of health problems can occur as a result of poor dental health, and without treatment, most dogs and cats suffer from some type of tooth or gum disease by the time they are three years old.
At Madera Veterinary Hospital, we can tell a lot about your pet by performing a physical examination. Sometimes, though, we need to see what is going on inside your dog or cat's body. In those situations, we often rely on our advanced digital radiography equipment. Digital radiography allows us to quickly diagnose a number of different conditions, and we are thrilled to be able to use this technology in our facility.

The staff is very helpful and willing to provide information if asked. The doctor however is very short and seems like she's ready to leave the room as soon as she walks in. My husband said he felt the same way both times he went with our dog. We are reluctant to change vets as the location is very convenient and the staff is friendly.

I've taken both my cat and dog now on visits to Madera. The office is itself is an old ranch style home modified into a clinic. It's very cozy and homey feeling, kind of unusual for a vet office in my experience, but I liked it.
My senior dog saw Dr. Rusty (sp?) and I've never had a better experience with a vet. He genuinely cared about my pup and did not make me feel rushed. Provided great options and explanations for everything, was very patient with my questions. He recommended some diet changes to help my dog and honestly her digestion has been so much better, just within a

Called to make an appointment for my little guy and they got me in the same day! The young lady on the phone was very friendly and polite. The tech was an absolute sweetheart who welcomed my many questions. The doctor was fantastic, answered the questions I'd asked of the tech and didnt seem rushed to move on to what I'm sure was a mountain of work. I've heard great things about this clinic at the dog park and I concur!!!

Thank you to the very caring staff. Dr Redmon and her staff have taken care of our girls all of their lives. When it came time to say goodbye to our Chelsea, after 17 1\2 years they were very kind and compassionate and treated us both with dignity and respect. Thank you again for all you have done for us.

Made time available (originally said they were full for the day but asked what the issue was) for us after we got a 3 week old puppy to get my wife n I up to speed caring for such a young pup. Super friendly / professional folks. Even called a few days after our appointment just to see how the little guy is doing. I will be returning to and recommending them.

I took my dog in for a last minute appointment because she was experiencing diarrhea for 2 days. The staff, and especially Dr. Redmon, were very gentle, caring, and thorough in their assessment. They gave detailed instructions on how to administer medication and ensure she gets better. Exceptional experience. I would highly recommend them for your pets!

Called and asked if I could purchase a tiny syringe to measure mite medicine I needed to apply to to my guinea pigs and they flat out refused. Wanted me to make an office visit to come in... ummmm no. I already know what they have, mites are pretty easy to diagnose do they need to see a cat for fleas?!?
Called another vet they gave me 5 for free. Guess which vet will get my business when/if my cavies are actually sick???

Our doggie spike had mouth cancer a few years back. The doctor told us our options. We decided to take him home. where we enjoyed his company for a fee more weeks. We were given pain medication to make him comfy. He stopped eating and we brought him in one last time. Everyone was so thoughtful and explained the procedure thoroughly. We even received imprints of his paw as a remembrance.

Dr. Redmon is kind and compassionate and very honest. She presented options for my 15 year old dog, but was also honest about the outcomes of those options. Her staff is great and very helpful. They let us stay with our "kid" as long as we needed and did not try and rush us out even though they were busy. Thank you Dr. Redmon and staff.

Its our first time here but...the staff was very thorough getting the medical history and examining my Golden Retriever. My dog was seen for some sores on his tail and allergies or dermatitis.
Dr was very open to questions and explained everything very well.
We have a lot if pets and I feel very comfortable bringing them to this clinic for care.

I recently made an appointment for my cat with Dr. Redmon because he's had a three year struggle with on and off vomiting and diarrhea. His previous vet diagnosed him with IBD, but didn't really do anything to solve the problem. When the previous vet didn't return a call for a week and a half, I switched. I couldn't be more thrilled with the help I received from Dr. Redmon and her staff. They really listened, ran appropriate tests, and two weeks later our cat is doing 100% better. I highly recommend Madera Veterinary Hospital.
