The original founder of PR's Autohaus of Lodi was a Stockton native, Paul Davey, who turned his passion for rebuilding Porche motors into an automotive career soon after graduating from Lincoln High School. At age 20, he opened Layfayette Auto in downtown Stockton. In 1981 Paul opened PR's Autohaus of Lodi was located on North Main Street.

The people here are friendly, and very knowledgeable. I had an issue with my 2010 Mini Cooper leaking fluid and I thought it was the clutch slave cylinder so I took it in to PR'S and they diagnosed it as the thermostat housing. They did the repair and I am back on the road. My car was there basically over night. Great people, convenient location and reasonable prices. I highly recommend them.

I worked With Ben and Linda to get work done on my New Beetle. Ben went above and beyond to explain the problems and the repairs needed. Since my car had been through 4 teen drivers, it was pretty beat up inside and out. Ben let me decide if it was worth fixing with no pressure and no B.S. Linda was a great communicator. Her emails and phone calls were pleasant and timely. Ultimately I had the repairs made and PR's went above and beyond again when they took the car in for the smog it needed to be tagged. They saved me time and I really appreciated it. PR's Autohaus was recommended to me by a Stockton

I’ve been here twice and have kept them in mind with any repair I need. The admin ladies are sweethearts, the repairs are fairly priced and I haven’t had a reason to complain yet.
They literally knocked on my door and picked me up so that I could drive back home. You can’t get any better than that.

I highly recommend PR Autohaus. My husband and I have been coming to PR’s for almost ten years and our 2007 Mercedes and 2005 VW Toaureg and both going strong because of it. As the daughter of a mechanic, I grew up learning to appreciate keeping a good quality car going for the long haul. Ben and his team are knowledgeable and trustworthy. Great shop, very thorough, clean facility, good honest pricing. Ben was great to work with, very helpful. They were able to diagnose and fix a electrical problem that a other independent Mercedes-Benz shop in Stockton could not but still charged $135 for nothing. Would definitely come back to PR’s in the future. They are even connected to Carfax, just like the dealership where it shows all the maintenance history and work performed on your vehicle. Trusted repair facility.

My go to resource for honest, frank mechanical info and service. A great big call out for referring me to Thomas Auto Body who put the Volvo back together with real metal work. For over a decade 1st class service - 1st for Mom's Z3 - you always worked her into your schedule, thank you - then for telling me upfront you don't work on MG's or Taurus', great efforts to keep the Honda on the road and now the Volvo. Detailed estimates for all work before and great referrals to vendors. They tell you upfront when work is not within their business model. but knows who is...

PRS is absolutely incompetent and incapable of handling your vehicle problems. They will change appts frequently, not have the vehicle ready when promised, and the worst part....the work they do is absolutely
sub par....but you will pay through the nose for it.

I recently dealt with Ben at Pr's Autohaus regarding the purchase of a Porsche 911 Cabriolet. I found his knowledge of the vehicle to be very in-depth, and I took his professional advice about ownership of this particular vehicle to heart. He had nothing to lose or gain by providing the service history of this car to me, yet he took time out of his day to speak with me and point me in the right direction. This is exactly what one should look for in an independent shop. Based on my experience, I would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again myself.

Just following up on my previous review. Looking at the bill is a bit cheaper than taking it to Porsche but my experience I would probably not ever take my car here again due to the fact that they only have one tech that works on Porsche's and if he is working on a Ferrari you'll be on the back burner. To run the codes it took 3 days just to inform you that they used a obd2 reader and the further diagnosis is going to take 2.5 hours at the rate of 125. They started with the most expensive diagnosis to the cheapest. And turned out to be the cheaper repair. Seen a couple of reviews of cars

Jason is right !! I had a horrible experience with this shop. My engine fault light was coming on and car was d-rating. I took to this shop and was told it was fixed. 3 days later it did same thing. I had a hell of a time getting these people to come pick up the car but when they did I was called and told it was something else. I had my car bought back home and there were are more issues now than before. This may have been a competent shop before but Not Now. These guys don't know how to diagnose or fix cars

These guys are top notch. Ben is really helpful and takes the time to answer any question that I have and addressed all of the concerns that I brought up. I don't know what others are talking about in their reviews, but not once was my bill ran up for no reason, nor were they defensive when I asked questions. Their prices are in line with what other European specialty shops charge, and I will not hesitate going back.

My car went into this shop for a diagnostic test. I got it back the next day. A week later I got two tickets in the mail for tinted window and registration . What is my car doing on the free way on Liberty Rd and 99. I confronted her and she apparently said she takes customers cars home for test drives all the time. She lives in Elk Grove. I guess she has no car to go home so she takes customers cars home. Lori also said that industry standard test drive is ten miles. Mind you that she lives in Elk Grove. Thats ten miles one way and ten miles coming back. Don't go to this place. There taking

I have used PR's Autohaus for service on my 1999 Porsche 911, my daughter's Honda Prelude, my son's Nissan 350Z, my wife's Lexus RX 330 and more recently for my 2000 BMW M5. The shop is clean and organized, and the staff is very talented. They were very thorough in their service and with explanation of the work performed. My cars run beautifully! I can recommend this shop with the utmost confidence in terms of the skill set and experience of the mechanics, timeliness of repairs done, and the extra mile that they go to make sure that the clientele is satisfied.

Terrible experience. They are nice until they get your car. One thing after another. Delays, charging more than the original quote. Repair leaked a couple days later and couldn't get it back in to fix right away. They said they were too busy. Best quote they had " we actually have cars in here that we make money on and yours isn't one of them ". Save your time and go to another shop that has a little customer service.
