It's hard to watch our beloved pets get older. Especially if they suffer from arthritis, or from another heath condition that makes it difficult for them to enjoy their favorite activities. And then, when the time comes, we can help you ensure your furry best friend has a peaceful, dignified, loving end of their life.
For that reason, diagnostic tests may be recommended for both well pets, and for pets who are ill. For ill pets, diagnostic tests can help get to the root of the problem more quickly - and thus, get your pet treated and back to normal health faster and more efficiently. The thing about sick pets is, they often have "non-specific" symptoms.
Just like for us humans, sometimes it can feel scary when a loved one has to undergo surgery and anesthesia - and it's understandable that you might worry about your furry family member. Here at Southside Animal Clinic & Pet Resort, we offer a variety of surgical services, ranging from routine spays and neuters, to special procedures such as abdominal surgeries, mass removals, eye and ear surgeries, and many more.
If you feel your pet may be currently experiencing a medical emergency, please seek veterinary care right away. Or, after hours, call the BluePearl Pet Hospital at 904-646-1287 or First Coast Veterinary Emergency at 904-853-6310. However, just like for us humans, it's better to be prepared ahead of time, and know exactly where to take your pet should an emergency happen.
If your furry best friend gets a wound - such as a bite, scrape, cut, or burn - you'll want them to be healed as quickly as possible, and comfortable during the healing process. For more routine wounds - like minor cuts and scrapes, broken toenails, or hot spots, for example - you'll still want to seek care as soon as possible.

I currently sit here in their parking lot writing this review. When I tell you to RUN not walk to this clinic. These ladies literally are like family now. Boy what a morning I had. My 14 year old fur son was having a morning and I truly thought it was our final morning together. I called so many vets trying to get an appointment and stumbled across this place. Not only is it 3 minutes from my home, but the second I got on the phone with someone I immediately felt at ease. I was in TEARS and she immediately welcomed me and got me a appointment. My 11-year-old lab mix is a new patient to Dr. Holloway. After only two appointments with Southside Animal Clinic, we are already satisfied with our choice to switch vets. Dr. Holloway is attentive and knowledgeable. The staff is also incredibly courteous and thorough. We recently had an emergency visit which resulted in surgery. Dr. Holloway's quick decision making was vital to my pet's health and we are forever grateful. I'd recommend Southside Animal Clinic to anyone who asks.

Gail is extremely compassionate in her profession. Our poor girl Riley is battling cancer and somehow Gail knew exactly what to say. We are giving letting our girl live out her very best life. Although we do not use SAC 100% of the time (my aunt has a clinic in Tampa we go to for annuals etc.) every time we bring one of our pets in for any abnormalities they treat us like we're regulars. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the area.

By far the best vet I have ever brought my cat to. The entire staff is very professional and courteous. From the front desk associates to the techs to the dr, it was a great experience. They show they care about your fur babies issues and did everything possible to resolve the issue. They are very detailed and thorough. I will never bring my cat anywhere else again. They far surpassed my expectations and made sure I had all the information needed before I left. I highly recommend bringing your fur babies to see them. You will be happy you did.

I can't brag about Southside Animal Clinic enough!! After taking my fur baby in an emergency, the kindness the staff and Vet showed my family, made me feel so at ease. I was a nervous wreck (aren't we all, where our babies are concerned?) I was frantically trying to find a vet, and after being told by several, that it would be weeks or ten days,I found a vet and staff, that would take care of my baby girl, ASAP. Their kindness, and knowledge, and their instant love for my girl, I knew I made the right choice! Due to covid restrictions, I haven't worked, I was prepared for the worse with the billing

My girlfriend and I took our two chihuahuas in yesterday. We recently moved here from Idaho, and needed a new vet. This animal clinic is the best animal clinic I have ever been to. The staff is extremely friendly, accommodating, and treat your pets like their own. My chihuahuas are rescues and scared of everything, but they were comforted and treated so well! I am extremely happy I chose this veterinary office for my pets, I will definitely continue to use this office for as long as I am living in Jacksonville. The prices are average as far as animal care comes, I honestly would have paid more
