Since 2003, we have been providing custom animal facility design services for projects all across the United States of America, and in other countries around the world. No place is too far away. No project is too small or too big. We have the knowledge and the experience, and we can help! Please see the project list at the right.
From Kennels, to Shelters, to full Veterinary Hospitals space planning, we do it all, and at very affordable prices. Projects may be new construction from the ground up, an addition or a tenant improvement (a design within an existing building). We do it all! Once received, smaller projects will likely have a first draft plan ready in a week or two; and larger projects, usually less than three to four weeks.

My name is Craig L. McAllester, and I've been an architectural designer since 1991. We incorporated our business in 1993. In the early days, my work was residential and commercial design including store and medical office space planning. In the early 2000's, I was contracted to design a small boarding kennel.
Over the years, I have come to realize that many of my clients don't really know what they want in their new kennel or cattery. Many have some general ideas, but don't fully understand what amenities they really need, or even, what is available. When you start to plan for a new home, idea books and drawings are available in most any bookstore to get you started-not so for building a new kennel.
I just wanted to give you a quick up date on our facility and send you a link to a video some friends helped us make. It's been a busy holiday season but really amazing to see the new building function at top capacity (we were able to board 38 dogs). Almost all the runs had double dogs from the same family and the daycare room had 16 crates.
For boarding kennels, the use is usually varied. It may include Indoor and Outdoor Daycare, Grooming, Retail, Luxury Suites, Training Rooms, Waterdog Pool, Public Community Spaces and many other uses too. I encourage clients to broaden their thinking when planning a new building. So often, a client comes to me with only one use in mind.
Shelters come in all shapes and sizes. A shelter may be for only one species, dogs for example, or it may take in any kind of pet, farm animal or even wild animals too. Over the years, each facility I have designed, has been a custom plan specifically for that clients' needs. It is all about what works for your needs.
