When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world, regardless of their date of death. When the grave is already marked, applicants will have the option to apply for either a traditional headstone or marker, or a new device (available spring 2009).
A United States flag is provided, at no cost, to drape the casket or accompany the urn of a deceased veteran who served honorably in the U. S. Armed Forces. It is furnished to honor the memory of a veteran's military service to his or her country. Generally, the flag is given to the next-of-kin, as a keepsake, after its use during the funeral service.

I am glad I decided to have my mom's funeral and celebration of life at a different funeral home. Praise God.
When my mother passed and it was suggested by koller's that I possibly send her to the morgue for the night it made me sick to my stomach.  I was an hour away and it was a Sunday night.  I felt like the time of her death was an inconvenience to them. The person I spoke with at koller's words of "sympathy and sorry for your loss" were so scripted and with no emotion.
When I hung up the phone and still sitting by my mother's body crying I decided to reach out to another funeral home.

The worst funeral home in the area. Was at my Uncle's funeral the other day and they had his shoes on the wrong feet. Really who does that even a monkey can tell left from right. They treat everyone like another number. This family is done next. Its not shop rite meat counter

Koller' s Funeral home without a doubt has and always will be #1.
I've known them for many years and when my Dad passed away in 2005, they couldn't do enough for me. Whatever your wishes are, they always go above and beyond to make it easier for you in your time of sorrow.
I no longer live in Manayunk, but my wishes are when the time comes, to be the one to handle everything for my family.
The staff is just outstanding and their family name is well known for their kindness and compassion.
I'm grateful for their continued friendship to our hometown.

Several years ago ,my wife and I visited Koller's to prearrange our services. We did so in order to make things easier for the survivor in a difficult moment. When my wife passed two years ago I went to Koller's with her daughter to make the plans. It was so much easier for both of us. Her daughter was able to know exactly what her mother's wishes were. What a comforting experience.
Now when the time comes my children need only to contact them and review my wishes. No decisions to make at a difficult time.
