Services
Hello, and thank you for your interest in our hospital! We're happy to introduce ourselves and share a little bit about our history, our philosophy and our staff. And of course, we would love to hear from you! Our practice has been open and servicing the Cedar Park, Leander area since 1985. In 2000, we opened the doors on our new hospital in it's new and current location.
We are dedicated to helping your pet achieve the highest quality of life. Our team provides exceptional care while showing respect for you and your beloved companion. Becoming a client is easy. When we receive your information, a member of our team will be in touch to help you schedule your first appointment.
What is your favorite thing about your pet? Is it the way he or she is always there to greet you after a long day? Is it that adorable head tilt or those wet, slobbery kisses? Perhaps it's the sweet sound of contented purring. If you're like us, you could probably list a hundred little things about your four legged friend that make you smile, touch your heart and enrich your life.
If your pet is staying in our hospital for boarding, grooming, surgery or a drop-off appointment, our hospital requires that your pet be current on certain vaccinations/tests. Proof of these tests or vaccinations is required at the time your pet is dropped off for his/her visit to our hospital. We do accept titer results if they have been run within the last 12 months of the date of your pet's visit.
We are proud to offer laser surgery and therapy for our patients. Laser procedures allow us to reduce the bleeding and swelling of surgery, making it both safer and less invasive. Laser therapy also reduces pain and recovery time, helping your pet get back to their normal self more quickly.

We are dedicated to utilizing the highest standard of veterinary technology, and laser therapy is one of the ways in which we stay on the cutting edge of our field. If you have any questions or concerns about how laser therapy can benefit your pet, please contact us today.

I've been taking my dogs here for years. Their staff is wonderful.
I've had to have them help 2 of our furbabies cross the 🌈 bridge. Their compassion is so appreciated at such a heart breaking time.

My girl, Luna, had chronic ear infections since February 2020. We knew she had a mass. I had it biopsied: benign. Multiple treatments, anti fungals, antibiotics, food changes, labs and a surgical consult (they said $10,000 for imaging and a total ear canal ablation). Dr. Homburg was my 3rd opinion about 3 months ago. She removed the mass and stalk with a little sedation: $600. No complications and finally infection free!!! My sweet Luna feels so much better!! Highly recommend hill country vet. Dr. Homburg is down to earth, skilled, honest… she is THE BEST vet. Thank you!!!!!

Every time I’ve taken my dog in, they seem to find as many ways to boost the bill as possible. They recommend preventatives and treatments that are nice but not critical. I repeatedly ask about cost and get vague answers. Then when it’s time to check out, the bill is twice what was expected. This last time I asked for an estimate and the staff Lauren said it would be $150 max. When I checked out the total was almost $400. When I asked to return the preventatives she turned from very friendly to very grumpy. After being a customer for over a year I decided we’re better off finding a nicer

Erin and her team came to the rescue when my dog suddenly started having seizures. I was in a panic, but Erin was incredible in walking me through options and establishing an immediate plan of action. The team was so accommodating and got me into an early appointment. They acted with an extreme sense of urgency and helped put my worries at ease. My dog is doing very well a month and a half later and I am thankful to this team as they treat my animals as if they were their own.

I have a 2 year old lab who has only been to the vet for routine visits and a 5 month old puppy who hasn't been as easy, unfortunately.

Short review: unhappy with my regular vet, I called first thing on a Monday morning, they were so kind and patient on the phone with me, worked my puppy in before lunch and by 2pm she was home and asleep on my feet with the right medication and symptomatic treatment - at 1/3 of the price of my old vet. Needless to say, I have a new vet.

Want the longer review?

My puppy got a UTI. I took her to the vet and $350 later they prescribed an antibiotic and

I came to Hill Country Vet during the deep freeze when our vet was closed. Dr. Erin went above and beyond in caring for our dog who was in heart failure. She was in the process of losing power and getting it back. She was able to send us home with medicine and called us 24 hrs later to check on our dog. Very impressed with her compassion and caring during this challenging time. I will be going to her from now on.

This is the best veterinary hospital I have ever been to! I just got my pup, Nala, and she always looks forward to seeing her friends at the vet! I was nervous at first because they did not allow me inside with her for her appointment (safety precaution for covid) but she ran right out wagging her tail and jumping on her vet friends! They gave her so much love and support while getting the job done. Highly recommend!!!

I called today and explained my dog died. From what we don't know. She was 4 years old and was running around in the field in back of our house. She didn't come when we called her 5 minutes later and we found her dead on the ground. No visible marks could be found. We wanted an autopsy and I told the receptionist (or whoever answered the phone). She said bring her in and the autopsy would be $185. I said okay. She explained the vet was busy with surgery but she DID NOT say it could not be done. When I arrived the story changed to they couldn't do the autopsy and it was going to be

My dog got very sick very suddenly and I was trying to find a place that would see her same day. Hill Country Vet were able to fit us in and I am so glad we found them. We got a very sad diagnosis and ended up having to take her to an animal hospital overnight to get her stable, but the care and compassion we received from the vet was so appreciated. Everyone there was nice and there were never any long waits. Our vet also was able to give us a 10 day sample of a very expensive medication. We will definitely be going back for ongoing care for Amelia and for routine care for our Border Collie

Called around to a few different Veterinarians in the area for pricing to "start from scratch" on my boyfriend's two rescue pups. Hill Country seemed to offer the best price, though still in the ballpark of most private veterinary offices. The receptionist was extremely kind and they were able to schedule us back to back appointments for our visits on a Saturday morning. The Saturday morning hours made taking them both to the vet at the same time a lot easier when we both could be there during the weekend. They had two toenail trims, two ear cleans and a full exam in less than an

I have been going to Hill Country Vet Hospital for more than 20 years. They have cared for my dogs over this period of time. We have been through cancer diagnosis, knee surgeries, hip dysplasia and various other things. The care has always been outstanding. They are skilled surgeons, who did an incredible job on my lab who had severe issues with his legs from a young age. When we had a dog with cancer, then consulted with Texas A&M to come up with a diagnosis and plan to care for him. I highly recommend Hill Country Vet!

I've been going to HCVH for about 4 years. They are always prompt and polite. Love the location as well.

Recently, I needed to come in quickly to have my cat checked, as she was experiencing a small litter box issue. I called, the said they have room immediately and I was in the door within 5 minutes after calling.

They always love on my cat soo much when we come in. The exam rooms are clean and at this point, my cat's familiar with the staff and the visit so she almost has a good time there.

The best part is that the cost for visits are never bank-breakers. For some reason, I always

Five stars does not do this place justice! I was fortunate enough to become a client earlier this year and they diagnosed a problem with one of my dogs and prepared me for the inevitable with grace and understanding. The inevitable day happened a couple weeks ago and we had to go to an emergency care due to the time of day. Even though Hill Country wasn't the vet involved with her euthanasia they actually sent my family and sympathy card that had a little note from everyone in the staff! I didn't even realize they knew we had lost her. It means so much that this place took time they

My client called on Monday to inform me a neighbor had called him at work. His house had caught fire and there was severe damage to the home. I was glad to find out that no one was home at the time. I naturally asked if he had a pet and he said he did, Roscoe was his name. Roscoe didn't make it.
I was there with my customer and reminded him that we were going to be there a LONG time and made a suggestion he take care of his dog. Can you imagine the 100 things going through his mind as he's looking at what's left of his home?
Hill County Vet came to his home and picked up Roscoe

What a wonderful place!! Excellent Customer service!! I took my dog here because it was close to my house and didnt know what to expect. The front desk person was very friendly and knowledgable. She handled herself well on a busy Saturday Morning with lots of animals in there. What I immediately noticed was this place was Not super pretentious. They were about good animal care in a welcoming atmosphere. I think I saw Dr. Badel. She was awesome too. She answered all if my questions and didnt rush me (and I had alot of questions!). They also didnt try to seel me a bunch of crap like other vets I

Our big female just started Heartworm Treatment and the staff here at Hill Country has been there every step of the way. LOVE THEM!

Ok, let me first start with Dr. Silvers is the best Veterinarian that we have ever had! Period.

We have a 12 year old yellow lab, Meadow, who has been a huge part of our family. She is one of those dogs who is always happy, never shows any signs of illness, great with the kids, and just one of those dogs everyone comes to love. In fact, people have adopted dogs because of Meadow and how amazing she is. Well, after recently moving to Cedar Park from California, we noticed a change in Meadow's demeanor and in her physcial state. She was panting heavily, sluggish, showing signs of pain

I took my dog in last summer. He was very old and had been in deteriorating health over the previous months. The staff checked him out and provided options. We could try several treatments, but they were very up front that the chances of treatment prolonging his life were not high. Also, they explained that his quality of life would probably not improve at all. He lived a good long life and the staff were very kind and patient while we made our decision. We spent as much time as possible with him. At every step, they stopped and checked in to make sure we were okay and clear on what was happening
