Q: What home care regimen do you recommend to maintain healthy teeth in between check-ups?. A: For dental health between visits, it is important to brush your teeth at least twice a day, floss at least once and make sure to use toothpaste that contains fluoride. We also highly recommend the Sonicare ultrasonic toothbrush for the very best results.

We offer comprehensive new patient exams, as well as routine exams at cleaning appointments. We recommend having your teeth cleaned at least every 6 months. Your initial oral examination includes a visual examination, charting, periodontal probing, diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
Similar in color and texture to natural teeth, tooth-colored fillings are less noticeable, and much more attractive, than other types of fillings. Tooth-colored fillings are made from durable plastics called composite resins. Since they are tooth-colored and match the shade of your natural teeth, they look more natural than other filling materials does.
Crowns are a type of dental restoration which, when cemented into place, fully cup over the portion of a tooth that lies at and above the gum line. In comparison, fillings are dental restorations that fill in or cover over just a portion of a tooth. Since dental crowns encase the entire visible aspect of a tooth, a dental crown in effect becomes the tooth's new outer surface.
A fixed dental bridge is a non-removable appliance often used to replace missing teeth. The traditional bridge is usually made of porcelain fused to metal. It consists of two crowns that go over two anchoring teeth and are attached to artificial teeth, filling the gap created by one or more missing teeth.

Called to see about getting in to see Dr. Baucum ASAP due to severe tooth pain. I also informed them at the time I was scheduling a first appointment that I was 37 weeks pregnant. The receptionist was incredibly kind & helpful. She got me in immediately. When I arrived she was just as friendly in person as was the rest of the staff I encountered. They really put me at ease with their attention to detail and listening to my needs and concerns. Dr. Baucum was very knowledgeable and informative. I will most certainly be seeing them again and referring them to all of my family & friends. Big
