Before entering the veterinary field, Anita owned a daycare. When she sold her facility, she began looking for a similar management job. As soon as Anita came across a newspaper listing for an open position at a veterinary hospital, she knew she'd found the perfect fit! She's been serving the area's pets and animal parents here at Forest Lane Animal Clinic for 25 years.
Here at Forest Lane Animal Clinic, we always welcome new clients and patients to our full service veterinary practice in Garland. We know you will be very happy with our services. Our veterinarians and staff are devoted to staying on top of the latest diagnostics, treatments, and wellness programs to maintain your pet's optimal health.
As a new client of our Animal Clinic in Garland, you can expect our full attention to your pets' needs. When you arrive for your appointment, you will be greeted warmly, and we'll usher you into an examination room after checking in your pet. In most cases, one of our veterinary technicians will start by asking about your pet's medical history, current condition and the reason for your visit, gathering data for the doctor.
Dr. Joel Miskimins was no stranger to animals growing up-his family always had a dog, and he spent plenty of summer days exploring his grandparents' farm. By the eighth grade, Dr. Miskimins had made up his mind to become a veterinarian! Now, he's been serving the pets and animal owners of the area here at Forest Lane Animal Clinic for over 30 years.
Keeping our animal family members happy and healthy takes more than just providing a safe place to live or feeding a nutritious diet. It takes a lifelong commitment to making his or her health a priority. It also takes a strong partnership with a veterinary provider that cares for your companion just as much as you do.

I had called earlier today & asked the lady who answered the phone if they had availability for an emergency walk in. I tried to briefly explain the situation but she cut me off & told me that I could come on in at around 4:45pm, or even 5pm as 5pm was the cut off time for seeing pets. I told her that’d I’d be there before 5pm & she said okay we’ll see you then & that was that. I drove AN HR to pick up my friend’s dog to take him there (as they’re the ones that live near by) & the lady at the front told me that they didn’t have time to see the dog as they still had 2 ppl with appts

Yep. I tried to ignore the other bad reviews but that was a huge mistake. Dr. Mskimons (probably misspelled) was nice enough and the vet techs attempt to do their job well and almost did but yeah like I read elsewhere there was little in the way of kindness toward my dog. The male tech who had, what seemed to be, Napoleon Syndrome or maybe he'd had a bad day or some rough dogs to deal with but he treated my medium sized, sweet mannered dog as if he was a 125lb rambunctious puppy. I told both him and the female tech to back off or I was going to leave. They did and when it came time for my

We made an appt for 4:30, arrived at 4:15, we suspected an ear infection. Sat in waiting room for 45 minutes, no one else was there except for a gentleman that arrived 10 minutes after us, they took him back right away, an emergency. We continued to wait, another lady came in 5 pm, they discussed some xrays, then she went back to discuss with vet about her cats x-rays, she paid and left, we still waited, no one bothered to tell us how much longer or anything. The vet techs continued to laugh and play and talk on the phone, while my dog scratched his ear so bad he started bleeding. Finally they

Forest Lane Animal Clinic is an amazing clinic. Dr. Mskimmins and his team are kind, helpful and truly care for animals. They are not trying to take an advantage of people like many of the vets around Dallas. Our dog had a tumor that wouldn't heal. After going to several vets including Med Vet, our dog was not healing and we were being drained thousands of dollars. We thankfully found Forest Lane where we met with Dr. Dunn and Dr. Mskimmins. They helped us figure out what it was and we're able to perform surgery on our dog for a much more resasonable price. They followed up for weeks

I took my cats for shots and flee treatment. It was a good service. The doctor also diagnosed my cat with solar dermatitis. I moved to a house and he has access to my back yard thru a catio, and his nose was so bad. Well, i took care of it, and yep it is gone, i just need to be careful during summer time ☆

DO NOT TAKE YOUR LOVED ANIMALS HERE!!! “We have a dedicated team of professionals who take the care of your furry family member seriously.. “ is what the website says. NOT TRUE AT ALL!!! This vet is Extremely rude, ZERO compassion, ZERO respect and was horrible to his staff, in front of clients. REGRET EVERY DAY going to this horrible clinic. … This “Dr” needs to Retire. AND said so himself to me when I went to discuss his demeanor and to discuss horrible experience had at this clinic!! Has no business doing what he does. Please take your animals elsewhere. Horrible

If you are thinking about getting your cat declawed, DONT! And if you decide to anyway, please do not go here to Forest Lane! I am beyond upset with how my cat has been treated. Particularly with the primary veterinarian that operates out of this place.
I took my cat in on a Monday and picked him up on a Wednesday. Forest Lane talks about how laser removal is much better for the cat and heals faster, and maybe with other vets it is, but not with this one. When my wife picked up my cat and brought him home, she placed him in our bathroom away from anything that could harm him. He began bleeding

Wednesday morning my husband and I woke up to find our dog had gotten into a bag of flea killer granuals. Our regular vet refused to see us and we were at a complete loss. So we went to google and started looking desperately. We called Forest Lane Animal Clinic and explained the situation and they promptly told us to bring him in. The people at the front desk were kind and understanding. they kept us up to date every time we called and we just really appreciated their whole attitude during all of this. The doctors were beyond amazing. They went above and beyond to help us save our dog. They were

A few days ago, my dog started acting unlike herself, then very ill. Regurgitating, low energy, dehydration, and watery stool. My family and I decided to give it 24 hours for her to come back around, but she hadn't, so we decided to look for a local vet that accepted walk-ins.
It was my first-time visit and initially, I was a tad bit put off by the odor. The woman at the front that signed me in was very kind, and the kindness continued once my dog was seen to. I appreciated how open, honest, and even conversational everyone was. I could tell they were enthusiastic about making sure my dog

I witnessed a dog get hit by a car. I scooped her up and raced to the closest vet office, Forest Lane Animal Clinic. They immediately took her back to treat her. They took great care of her for 3 days until she was well enough to go to a foster until her owner is found. They were concerned for her well being and not about getting paid. They genuinely care about the animals.

My Yorkie was quite sick (I was out of town on a business trip) so my granddaughter took him to Forest Lane. The doctor(s) gave a guess at what was wrong, prescribed the wrong medication, charged wayyy too much. Later that evening he had to be taken to an animal hospital where proper care (blood work, X-ray) was done. He stayed two nights at the hospital. Had the advice of the "doctor"from Forest Lane been followed I would have lost my little dog. Don't take your animals to this Clinic.

I went here because they are licensed to do international health certificates
I went with plenty of time to get all the shots my dog needed
I was told to go 21 days before the day of travel and I did.
They told me to go 10 days before the date of travel and I did.
Then they contact me saying the USDA call saying my dog was missing a shot she supposed to have 21 days prior the trip.
They keep blaming that my regular vet should've give her the shot,I told them they don't do health certificates that's why I bring my dog to Forest lane Animal Clinic.
My advice is that if you need this

3.5 stars --- We moved from PG to Garland about 2 years ago and wishing months, got a call saying my dog who was taken a year before the move was found in Oak Cliff. Within months, he started having horrible back problems; which he never had before. I took my baby here and was told he has a slipped disk and recommended some drugs to help him with the pain. At one point, his pain was so bad to where he refused to get up to go use the bathroom. I took him and they recommended a treatment so of course I said do it. When I picked him up later that day, he was back to his old self. The vet was so nice

I took my grandmothers cat who's diabetic to Forest Lane Animal Clinic this morning because his primary veterinarian was open but no DVM on staff. He was experiencing Hypoglycemia symptoms: disoriented, staggering, unresponsive and needed immediate attention. I didn't want to take him to the ER so I called Forest Lane Animal Clinic and they immediately got us in. Daniel Tellez at Forest Lane Animal Clinic was amazing!!! He quickly got us back in the exam room, tested his blood glucose and treated him immediately and stabilized him enough for us to take him home and treat/monitor him in

DO NOT GO HERE.
oh man, this place is the worst vet clinic I have ever seen. It is old, run down, with no effort to make it look nice at all. The kennel area is dark and falling-apart. I'm sure it's functional, but it just looks terrible and is probably not the best place for your pet.
Another thing I noticed is that they do xrays in the same room they keep sick patients. the animals don't have any protection from the rays. when I asked the vet about this, he just brushed it off and pretty much said "it's ok, don't worry about it".
