Pet insurance pays, partly or in total, for veterinary treatment of the insured person's ill or injured pet. Some policies will pay out when the pet dies, or if it is lost or stolen. As veterinary medicine is increasingly employing expensive medical techniques and drugs, and owners have higher expectations for their pet's health care and standard of living than previously, the market for pet insurance has increased.
At Precious Paws Animal Hospital in Southaven, MS, we believe that regular checkups and wellness exams are critical to your pet's well-being. These wellness exams give us a chance to evaluate the overall health of your pet while also giving us a baseline for their own unique bodies and tendencies. Not only do these exams keep us up-to-date with your pet's health, they also allow us to detect potential problems before they become serious.

I loved this vet! They were all so nice. Despite being always busy, the staff handles themselves very well.

Precious Paws was there for me when i needed them. My 15 year old cat passed at home late at night. I am new to this area and did not know what to do where to turn. The next morning, these compassionate people understood my grief and handled my pet very professionally. I can never thank them enough.

Dr. Waldrip went above and beyond. When it comes time to make the hard choice you want some one as compassionate as him. Not only him, the rest of the staff we encountered were great.

We have taken both our Dog & Cat to Precious Paws and have consistently been impressed with the level of service and reasonable prices.
We have had routine in addition to procedures requiring anasthesia. I would highly recommend PPAH based upon my experiences and will continue to entrust them with the care of our pets.

We moved down here from WI about a month ago and we were blessed to be able to take our 14 year old little man with us. My dogs have been battling an intestinal parasite for months so I’ve been taking them to Desoto County Animal Clinic(they’re all awesome there as well). My old man Charlie has not been doing well with this illness. On Saturday, we made the very hard decision that it was his time to go. We were told by Desoto County Animal to go to Precious Paws if our Charlie got worse as he was refusing to eat on Friday. We went there and Dr. Waldrep was amazing. He and the staff there made

We see Dr Keen and both my cattle dogs love him. He sits ON THE FLOOR with them and gets on their level to exam them. He is extremely nice and friendly and gives me options for treatment so that I feel like I am part of the treatment plan instead of being talked “at”. I have been to other vets who barely touch my dogs, but when we found Dr Keen, he always gives them a thorough check from nose to tail just in case. Dr Frazier is fantastic, too, and you can absolutely tell his love for animals with his interactions. I have seen him just hold and pet my mom’s dog as he’s explaining to mom

We are new to the area and after several recommendations on the Nextdoor app, we choose to take our new sweet 2 month old boxer puppy to them. Precious Paws is truly an amazing place. From the ease of making an appointment all the way to checking out was a great experience. The staff was so sweet and caring and the doctor even called me personally to give me details about his puppy checkup. I appreciate how up to date they are. Not only do they have a great communication system, but they also have the portal online where you can fill out info ahead of time and also check your pets info out. This

A big thank you to all of wonderful the doctors and staff for being on emergency call during the clinic closing due to snow and inclement weather. My elderly dog has heart disease and he had started bloating from kidney issues. Dr. Kennedy was on call and called back within the hour to check on our dog. He then called again later that evening to check in on him once again. Unsure if the office would be open or not the following day, he would let me know asap in case I needed to get my dog into the clinic the next morning. Thank God, the doctors and the entire staff for braving the weather to get

This place used to b five stars. The doctors and the assistants are great! The lady at the front desk is the problem. She miscommunicates, acts like she has never seen us every time we show up, I've voiced my frustrations with her inability to get the basic things done but no avail. I wonder if she is family or something because she is obviously hurting the business and no one cares. The lady that used to work here knew us and our three dogs by name but the level of customer service has drastically dropped. Time to consider our other options.
