Services
The staff at Circle Veterinary Clinic strives to help our clients take the best care of their pets. We are the only hospital in Wilmington accredited by AAHA, and our compassionate, skilled veterinarians and support team make comprehensive and preventative care their priority.
We have a long record of outstanding service, as our hospital traces its history from 1925 as the oldest continuously operating small animal veterinary practice in Delaware.Dr. Harvey Fell established Circle Veterinary Clinic and was succeeded in 1956 by long-time Wilmington veterinarian Dr. John L. Wilkins.

At Circle Veterinary Clinic, we encourage yearly physical examinations for all pets as part of routine preventative and wellness care. The annual check up includes a thorough physical by a veterinarian and is a comprehensive assessment of all body systems. This screen allows us to determine if any abnormalities exist in your pet's condition.
In offering a wide range of veterinary care for your dog or cat, we may need to perform anesthesia during some procedures. While this can be concerning for some owners, Circle Veterinary Clinic has at our disposal a wide assortment of anesthetics to administer for the safest anesthesia possible for your beloved pet's unique health condition.
Like people, pets need annual dental exams to maintain good oral hygiene and to help diagnose any dental problems, as well as potential underlying health conditions. Neglecting dental care can result in unnecessary discomfort and potentially expensive future health problems if left undiagnosed and untreated.
Fleas and ticks are a constant threat to our pets. Ticks can also be a serious health hazard due to tick-borne diseases such as Lyme disease. Fleas can cause significant skin problems for both dogs and cats, as well as internal problems such as tapeworms. These parasites can make humans uncomfortable and can prove very difficult to eradicate once they have invaded our homes.

We adopted a dog that had been brought there the month before for an entire work up including all his shots and checks. They were clearly told he was going to be going to a new home and refused to allow us to continue his heartgard when we called without bringing him back in. He was literally just there. That’s so unethical in my book.

About five or six years ago, I left a large Veterinary Practice in Wilmington (and many other places) and I found Circle Vet. I am so glad I did. Dave Wilkins, the owner, is a nice, compassionate, knowledgeable individual, and it shows with the people he has working there. Every experience there has been wonderful, and I am very picky who sees my golden, Isabelle. Never a rush, prices are very reasonable, and I am so glad I found this place. Thanks Circle Vet and all the employees too! I would want no one else to care for my dog!

These people are over the top expensive, and they have the nerve to ask costumers for towel donations. After charging so much for unnecessary extra pet care, you should be thanking your customers by giving them a free towel. One for each pet they bring in. Also have circle vet embroidered on the “thank you” towels. It’s the least you could do for having all the rude, no nothing girls at the front desk on their cellphones.

My family has always had animals. My parents began taking our pets to Dr. David Wilkins' dad when he was on the corner in Wilmington. When I had my own animals, I went to the first Dr. Wilkins too. I have been with the practice since the 1960s -- wow -- last century!! I don't know what I would do without this vet!! His staff is wonderful too!! He is a great diagnostician. He loves my animals.

We've been to almost every vet in this city but this is by far the best. We love windcrest for their boarding but because they are a big corporate vet, we felt they were often pushing meds that might not have been necessary. Circle does not do that, and they try and help you make wise financial choices (like when I couldn't decide on flea/tick/heart worm meds).
Also, my dog is scared of other dogs and Circle's waiting room is big enough to hide your 70 lb trembling pit bull. Another vet (well the receptionist) in town sneared at me when a lady had her dog off leash in the office

Well equipped, Dr. Wilkins and Dr. Allison are beyond awesome. The staff is welcoming and the talent, second to none. Couple that with reasonable costs, you have a great place for quality care for your pet. I put a lot of time and effort into my dog, and I feel good knowing she is in their capable hands

I switched to this vet after I felt my current vet was a bit expensive. I selected this vet because of good reviews and the fact that it was in a working class neighborhood. Figured it could not be overpriced. It was a great decision. The doctors are caring and friendly and it was much more reasonable. They do not gouge you for every little thing like my vet in the Bear Delaware area did. My cat had a serious neck injury and the follow up bandage change appointments were extremely reasonable. At the final one he also received another dose of antibiotics. My bill that day was $23!

Clean facility, professional and friendly staff. I have taken my cats here ever since they opened several years ago. Lisa, my cat, does not like going to the vet for her annual check up and for any needed shots. When she see's the pet carrier, she runs and hides, so it is chase the kitty. Once caught and at the vet, the staff knows how to make her feel relaxed.
I highly recommend Circle Veterinary Clinic.

My brother picked up medication for his dogs yesterday here and watched them turn away a woman with a sick dog crying because she didn't have $53 to give them. Even though she said she would pay for it and was holding her dog in her arms. My brother ended up going back in to pay for it so the woman could get help for her dog. Shame on them. I understand we all need to make money, but where is your compassion? I would never go to a vet that had staff that can be so cold and callus.
