Services
Greater Atlanta Family Counseling does not believe in a one size fits all approach to treatment. We are a firm believer of meeting clients where they are, and we are fully prepared to align with clients - wherevere that might be - on their journey towards change or healing. Clients will complete either an inital phone consultation and/or will submit a questionnaire via email before scheduling an appointment.
William A. Smith, LCSW (He/Him/His) is a passionate therapist who is dedicated to making the highest quality mental health care available accessible in Georgia. A native of Atlanta, Will earned a Bachelor's degree from the University of Georgia and then completed his Master's degree in Clinical Social Work at The University of Washington in Seattle.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a model of therapy that is most useful for clients who feel stuck or lost in life. Using ACT, the therapist will work closely with the clients to identify their core values, set goals based off of these values, and then create a plan to begin making lifestyle changes.
Childhood is unique in the fact that it is an especially important point of intervention. If family, school faculty, or other providers are concerned about mental health issues, early intervention can be extremely valuable to that child's present and future quality of life. Greater Atlanta Family Counseling uses art techniques, play techniques, and music techniques to assist in facilitating the therapeutic process with children.
Greater Atlanta Family Counseling is proud to offer marriage and couples counseling to assist clients in working towards stronger relationships. We use integrative models of couples therapy including Gottman and Emotionally Focused Therapy to assist clients in improving closeness, communication, trust, growing together, and repairing/processing any incidents that may have negatively affected any of the aforementioned.
