Presidio Way Veterinary Hospital was founded in San Francisco, California, in 1979.
All of our staff veterinarians are members of the American Veterinary Medicine Association and the California Veterinary Medicine Association. Most children have a vague fantasy of what they want to be when they grow up: fireman, ballerina, princess, superhero. For me, when asked this question, my prompt answer was always "veterinarian".
Presidio Way Veterinary Hospital was founded in San Francisco, California, in 1979. Since then we have continued to build our reputation as one of the finest veterinary hospitals in the Bay Area. In 1997, Presidio Way moved to our present location at 3619 California at Spruce Street, located next to the Laurel Heights Shopping Center.

Hands down the best Vet Hospital I have been to. Dr. Chatoian, Cecilia, and Maria were absolutely wonderful. My cat Randy was having some serious health issues during Covid pandemic time, and while other places were “too busy” to take him in, Presidio Way took him and treated him and walked me through the whole process. Their prices are so fair too. TRUST ME, take your pets here!! I’ve been to a lot of vets in the different cities I’ve lived in and this place IS IT!

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Value
I don't even know where to start on this review. I have entrusted them with the care of my kitty which has been showing signs of diabetes despite not being overweight and they completely misdiagnosed him!! He is currently on the edge of death because of their negligence. Don't take your animal here!

I've been bringing my dogs to Presidio Way for almost 25 years, and in all that time of course have been to other practices, but nothing like these guys... They are terrific! We've been through thick and thin, life and death, illness and health, and I couldn't ask for better, more caring, high quality treatment (and the price hasn't sent me to the poorhouse yet :-)... The whole range of a pup to adult to old dog's needs, however mundane or outright bizarre, they're on it. The staff here is unbelievable. From the receptionists (especially Melissa!) to the technicians to Dr. Helmer herself, everyone has always been over-the-top nice and welcoming in every way.
Dr. Helmer is hands down the best veterinarian we have ever met. She cares for our dog Walnut like her own. She is knowledgeable, personable and compassionate. What I appreciate most about her is her ability to listen and truly make us feel heard in every concern we've ever had about our odd little chihuahua.
About a year ago, our dog was having a lot of anxiety that was resulting in very odd behavior at night
