Located conveniently off of I-40 in University Commons Shopping Center, this family friendly restaurant is your place for authentic Italian cuisine. Head Chef/Owner Gino Carannante and his wife Lisa's passion for good food inspired the opening of Little Italy Pizza & Italian Restaurant in Burlington in 2007.
In his home country of Italy, the art of cooking is a tradition. In fact, Gino's first cooking lessons were times spent as a kid observing his mother while she busily prepared food in the kitchen for the family. It was the same philosophy and long standing appreciation for technique and flavor that he puts into each dish they serve.

One of the best Italian restaurants I've been to hands down. The red sauce is better than any other red sauce at any restaurant I've been too. I ordered Veal Parmigiana and it was fantastic. Hubby got Chicken Piccata and he said it was very good. A couple weeks later, I went to a fancier Italian restaurant in town and ordered Veal Parmigiana and it was just meh, and it cost 50% more. I'll be back. Looking forward to trying other menu items.

We stopped in on Friday night. We come here quite often because the food is great. However the service really stinks at times. This one waitress never brings us bread and oil almost every time we visit. The other night she didn't offer or bring us any but all of her other tables had some. Not sure if we have to ask for it? She never brought refills, the hostess did. The food comes out at strange intervals. Our kids meals came out a good 10 minutes before ours did and this isn't the first time this has happened either. Once we had our food she never came back and checked on us. Then it took at least

The worst service we could find ,The food came after half an hour, although the restaurant was not crowded. We asked for the check, we did not find anyone, although there were two hosts sitting next to us at one of the tables arranging some forks and napkins, but when We asked one of them to bring the check, she went and did not return, so we asked the other girl and she gave us the bill to pay on the cashier, so the cashier girl gets the money with a frown face without any smile, as if she is getting electricity bills. I will never go back to this place again

Wanted to try local Italian restaurant rather than the franchises upon a visit to Burlington. was told it would be a 15 minute wait, that's fine it was a Saturday night.the hostess who sat us in waiting area, later looked right at us and sat somebody else ahead of us so the other hostess had to seat us somewhere else. that's still OK... took a long time to get our food, we got bread and oil right away ,salad (well a lot of restaurants don't serve you a real salad) but this was just iceberg lettuce a couple of cherry tomatoes and a couple of slices of cucumbers... the Italian dressing was just vinegar

The service and food were simply incredible. From where I sat at my table I was able to see the workings of the counter and the kitchen and the work staff was going nonstop as they were extremely busy and they were very quick to respond to customer requests and to get to go orders out the door. New paragraph this is the first time I have eaten at Little Italy pizza and Italian restaurant in Burlington NC but I will be back.

I wanted chicken broccoli Alfredo, no pasta, just extra broccoli, she said it would be $4 extra, $13.95 already. You save a serving of pasta, it shouldn't be extra to have broccoli instead. Ordered mozzarella sticks, never got them. All of our meals came at different times. The food was food for the most part.. The "garlic bread with cheese" was actually just a cheese pizza with sauce on the side, literally it was a personal sized pizza crust with cheese and garlic cut into sticks.. odd but the best thing we had the entire meal. Restaurant was very clean.

The food was just okay, maybe a little more seasoning to the chicken parm and pizza.. I will say it was nice and hot when it came out. The staff are very friendly. I overheard one staffer thanking a customer for being patient as they are short staffed. There seemed to be a lot of member there. Maybe just try to get a little more organized would be my tip. We did have to wait a while for our refill of tea. Not a bad place though!

Great family Italian restaurant in one of the worst shopping center designs ever. I gate this shopping center. But this restaurant is really great!
There is woman who seems to be the owner, mama, grandma and head chef who pretty much runs this place. She is very nice and funny.
The dining room is shaped kinda funny and the door will likely let cold air in but the food is good! I really dislike this shopping center though!
