There are core fundamentals behind achieving and maintaining an aesthetically optimal body; a balance of strength training, cardio, and nutrition. Not one has greater value than the other. They are all part of a TRIPARTITE. We believe that the effort that a person puts in is just as important as the energy that a trainer puts out. This teamwork creates SYNERGY. SYNERGY: the interaction of two to produce a combined effect greater than their separate effects.

We are all a little different than one another. Some short, some tall. Our shapes vary as well. Because there are so many variations, it's easiest to break down the body into four simple structures; BANANA SHAPE, POTATO SHAPE, PEAR SHAPE, and APPLE SHAPE. Where and how you carry your body fat and muscle is the first step in creating a plan to get into shape.
This can be a very challenging body type and many mistakes are made in trying to overcome the obstacles; generally doing excessive cardio and taking in too many calories. The goal is to eliminate the small amount of body fat in unwanted areas and put muscle in the right areas. It is imperative to take in the right amount of protein and follow a specific strength training regimen in order to achieve the aesthetically pleasing body that you want.
People with POTATO SHAPE body types carry their body fat throughout their entire body. As we age, natural hormones decrease at a higher rate because of insufficient nutrients and lack of muscle building exercise. This body type can appear early on but more than likely later in life. People with this body type are generally characterized as 'big boned'.
Based on your specific body type and skill level we will devise a weight and cardiovascular training program to assist in reaching your potential. The accompanying training sessions will then be scheduled with your trainer. The one-on-one private sessions with your trainer enable your trainer to focus on you specifically with no interruptions.
TOTALFITNESS opened in 2001, as a true one-on-one facility, providing strength training and nutritional advice. Over the years we have transitioned our equipment for superior results and have updated our nutritional information for practicality without compromising our core fundamentals. We focus on you and your goals privately, directly and independently.

I’ve worked out with them for 10+ years. Very intimate.not your typical gym! I cannot say enough about the work outs and Michelle and Dave and how they have made me feel!

I'm so thankful for my time at Bryer's Total Fitness. I never felt like I was left to figure out anything on my own. Nutrition plan, challenging workouts, and daily feedback kept me on track and allowed me to lose weight, build shapely muscles, and increase my confidence. We worked out in a beautiful and clean space. I looked forward to every session and would do it all again in a heartbeat.

I am not a person who just "works out" on my own…I've owned gym memberships in the past and would actually drive to the parking lot of the gym and then wouldn't get out of the car and turn around and head home!! With Bryers Total Fitness, Michelle is waiting for me at each of my sessions and that is the motivation I need to get myself there. This is now MY time. Additionally, Michelle provides awesome insight into nutrition and ways to change your diet to get the results you are looking for. As a woman over 50 I wanted to add weight training to my routine to stop the effects of osteoporosis. I found that Total Fitness was the perfect fit for my schedule and the one on one training sessions were exactly what I was looking for. If you are looking for a personal trainer, you should go see Dave or Michelle! I have trained with Michelle for over three years. Michelle takes the time to teach you about nutrition, cardio and weight lifting - all important components for losing weight. She is always there to answer questions or give you support. The best part - you can choose to train one on one with Dave or Michelle. This was really nice at first when I wasn't sure of myself - Michelle and I were the only ones on the floor. I'm so glad I have Dave and Michelle to keep me healthy and in shape!

This is my second time working out with Michelle at Bryer's Total Fitness. Running and working out on my own just wasn't cutting it. I went back to see Michelle because I wanted to see results right away and I knew that would happen with her. I'm so happy that I did. I recommend Bryer's Total Fitness to everyone.

I enjoyed working out with Michelle and Dave. I had just retired and wanted to be able to enjoy this time in my life. I talked with Michelle and was very impressed. I was 65 years old, needed to loose some weight and get physically fit. She helped me loose 25 pounds and by exercising with her guidance felt better than I have ever felt in my life. I had to move out of state or I would still be going to Total Fitness to work out. I looked forward to my days at Total Fitness, it was a very pleasant and personal environment. I would recommend anyone in the Omaha area to stop by and talk with Dave
