After the summons and Petition for Dissolution are served and filed, the soonest the divorce can be final in Washington State is three months. However, if the parties do not agree, the case will be resolved at trial which is usually set approximately a year after the petition and summons are served and filed.

Mr. Bjornson is a highly skilled attorney. My case was not easy to be resolved because there existed many international issues. It was the most challenging to understand the American legal system for me. However, his passionate support turned into success. I am satisfied with the final result. I know many international people want to understand the American law system, which is different from each state. Hiring Erik as my divorce attorney was the best decision I made for my divorce.
As a cardiologist, my mindset was that I must protect what is mine and fight to win. I initially hired the most expensive high end attorney and law firm in Tacoma, and it was a disaster. I successfully wasted money, probably close to $50,000 to $100,000 and got no where.
My ex-wife hired a sleaze ball attorney that would do anything to drain more lawyers fees out of me to pay his fee.
While my first attorney didn’t do anything unethical, but he was unable to manage my case in a manner that would be in my best interest

I will not recommend Eric. Eric took my case almost as if he knew that he had a good record with reviews. My reason of why I do not recommend him are the following.
Money: every lawyer seems to just want the money to take your case instead of giving you a good assessment of the case.
Knowledge: Eric took my money on my case, not knowing the current changes on military retirement and spousal entitlements. Plainly and simply complained to me about fighting for me. His sentiment almost seem as if he was fighting for the ex spouse.
He made me do work on the timeline in which I was in the army with

I absolutely must, have to recommend Attorney Erik to you or to any one who is dealing with the divorce. I know and understand how painful, stressful, and ugly the divorce process can be, especially when assets and children involved. I was there.

Mr. Bjornson took on my custody/divorce case with knowledge and professionalism. He made sure I understood my options and odds throughout the whole process. All fees and charges were clear and itemized. I feel that he represented me very well, and I cannot explain how happy I am with the outcome. I still use Erik to this day for a myriad of issues and questions.

Bjornson took $500 of my money to copy and paste my name into a letter to the court that was from a different case, then sent in another attorney to represent me who knew nothing about my case. He claims to have knowledge and skills to better represent military personnel. The reality is that he has figured out that it's really hard for military personnel to sue him for malpractice. Stay away. The guy is not a good lawyer, he doesn't give a damn about military personnel, and his ethics are reprehensible. The positive reviews you see are probably fake.
