Our full service animal hospital is equipped to provide your pet with the best care and veterinary services. We offer care for all the life stages of your pet, from kittens and puppies to geriatric pets. At each doctor visit, your pet receives a thorough physical exam, including evaluation/auscultation of heart and lungs, skin evaluation, dental exam, otic and ocular exam, and orthopedic evaluation.

Have you recently added a new furry family member to your home? The Rita Ranch Pet Hospital team is here to provide support and education to pet owners at all stages of the game. When you first get a new pet, we recommend that they be brought into our animal hospital for a checkup within the first week after they join your household.
When your dog or cat is in the age range that is considered "adulthood" in pets, usually between the approximate ages of 1 year and 7 years, depending on their breed and adult size-their care will often focus on preventive maintenance to ensure that they maintain their health for years to come. Some of the most important parts of adult dog and cat care are often the most overlooked.
When your pet reaches their senior years, the level of care that they need begins to change. Most pets reach their senior years when they are approximately 8 years of age, though larger pets (over 70lbs) may reach their senior years by the age of 5. For senior pets, we recommend twice-yearly wellness exams to provide us with the opportunity to detect problems early, before they have a chance to develop into anything more serious.

I forgot my wallet one time, understand I've seen them for years with my dog... I called explaining I was camping and realized it was in my bag... it was more or less a check-up so I knew I wouldn't have time to go home and I asked if they wouldn't mind if I payed over the phone after... they said it was fine but then held my dog as collateral and I had to speed to vail and get my money before they closed and held him over night... money comes first here... Don't be fooled...

This hospital shows genuine concern, care and empathy. They handle every situation with the utmost care and concern for not only your furbaby but for you as well. Hats off to the amazing people that work here...I laid my baby Diego to rest with them and couldn't have felt better about who cared and handled him after his passing. They're very nice and have been accommodating for scheduling appointments. The staff is very pleasant and you can tell they truly care about animal welfare. The vet explains things in detail and gives you all the options and information to make a good decision.
Edit: I originally reviewed them saying the vet didn't seem to want to hear our concerns or follow up questions. They have followed up our last two visits specifically asking if we had any questions. Well done, thank you!

I called my usual vet twice and was put on hold for a long time so I googled and called 2 other places nearer to me. one of them was kind of rude. The other one I left a message twice. I looked further on Google and found this place so I gave them a call which was answered right away. The female receptionist that answered was quite compassionate and understanding. I've never been here before but if that's an indication of how this place does business I look forward to my appointment and I look forward to start taking all of my dogs there.

My dog was seen Friday by one veterinarian; we had to return for a re-check today and she saw another veterinarian (due to my availability). Both vets were outstanding. Very thorough, professional, insightful, and caring. They worked with their staff to provide estimates prior to any procedures being done and ample time to discuss treatment options. We thought my sweet Cavvy might need a procedure, but they advised watchful waiting. I felt very grateful that they did not charge me unnecessarily and handled our case with the utmost courtesy. Staff is also very passionate and caring.

I would highly recommend Rita Ranch Pet Hospital, I just moved here and my dog had scratched his eye. They took us in immediately and there was no wait time when we got there. They inspected his eye and determined what was wrong. They prescribed him drops and then we had a follow up, when we had our follow up we once again were seen right away. They checked his eye out and suggested a second medicine. The next time we went in his eye was completely healed and they were fantastic with him. The entire staff is so friendly and kind. It was my dog Jumanji first visit to a Veterinarian and Rita Ranch Pet Hospital is the best . They treated Jumanji like Royalty. I recommend all who live in the Vail and Rita Ranch area to bring your pets here. Dr. Krauss has a real passion for pet's, she sat down on the floor with Jumanji and played with him it was awesome to see a Vet do this. The whole staff is very friendly and professional.
